Wondering how to hide a like and dislike on YouTube? Although there's no way to see who disliked your video on YouTube, it's possible to hide likes on YouTube and hide dislikes on YouTube, especially since many of your likes and dislikes may be disappearing. So let's get right into this YouTube tutorial on hiding likes and dislikes on a YouTube video.
There are two ways you can hide likes and dislikes on YouTube: you can hide your user ratings before and after a video has been uploaded to your YouTube channel. When uploading a new video to YouTube, if you don't wish your likes and dislikes to show up once the video goes public, all you have to do is access the 'details' section, and untick this box that says 'show how many viewers like and dislike this video'.
Now, if you want this 'show how many viewers like and dislike this video' unticked option to be a preset setting, rather than something you do each time you upload a new YouTube video, in other words, for all of your YouTube videos' likes and dislikes to be hidden when you upload them, head over to your YouTube channel page, click on your icon on the top, right-hand side, and then click on 'YouTube studio'. In your YouTube studio, click on 'settings' from the left-hand side panel.
Select this 'upload defaults' option, and then click on 'advanced settings'. Scroll down until you reach this 'users can view ratings for this video', untick this box, and then click on 'save'. Now every time one of your new YouTube videos go public, your likes and dislikes will be hidden.
Let me now show you how to show likes on YouTube and not show likes on YouTube for a YouTube video that has already been uploaded and published. Make sure you're logged in to the YouTube account in which you wish to hide likes and dislikes. On your YouTube channel page, click on your icon on the top, right-hand side, and then click on 'YouTube studio'.
In your YouTube studio, click on 'content' from the left-hand side panel. You can either select an individual YouTube video you wish to hide likes and dislikes on, or click on this 'select all' icon up top, and then on select all again, to select all of your YouTube videos.
Now click on 'edit' from that black panel up top, and select 'user ratings'. Switch the user rating from on to off, and then click on 'update videos' on the right-hand side. If you want to unhide likes on YouTube and enable likes on YouTube again, just undo everything we just did. Select the video you wish to show the likes and dislikes on, click on 'edit' from that black panel up top, and select 'user ratings'. Switch the user rating from off to on, and then click on 'update videos' on the right-hand side.
Also, make sure that your upload defaults are set to show likes and dislikes rather than hide likes and dislikes. Click on 'settings' from your YouTube studio's left-hand side panel, select this 'upload defaults' option, and then click on 'advanced settings'. Scroll down until you reach this 'users can view ratings for this video', tick this box, and then click on 'save'.
