VidIQ Claude: How To Grow On YouTube With Claude VidIQ - VidIQ Tutorial + Claude AI Tutorial

To connect VidIQ to Claude to grow on YouTube, first head over to vidiq.com/mcp and copy this MCP server URL.



Now, head over to Claude. Click on customize from the left-hand side panel, and then on connectors under this customize section. Click on add from the top right hand side, and then on add custom connector, and paste that code you just copied from VidIQ in the space provided.


Since I had already previously connected VidIQ to Claude, it will appear over here. So, let me go ahead and click on connect to show you how it works.


A pop-up will appear saying, “VidIQ MCP wants to access your VidIQ account.” This will grant VidIQ MCP access to data from your VidIQ account. This includes your VidIQ account information and data about your YouTube channel. Go ahead and click on authorize.


As you can see, Claude is now connected to VidIQ.


So, how do we go about using VidIQ and Claude together? Let's head over to a new chat. Click on this plus sign from the bottom left hand side. Click on connectors, and make sure that VidIQ is turned on.


You can either head over to vidiq.com/mcp and use any of the ready-to-use prompts for YouTube MCP, which will help you with your competition, performance, keywords, trends, and analytics. Or, you can head over to Claude and design a prompt yourself.


Let's start with a ready-made prompt from VidIQ to grow our YouTube channel. For example, under this keyword section over here, we can copy this prompt that says, “What keywords am I ranking for that I haven't fully optimized?”


Now, let's head back to Claude, paste the prompt in the space provided, and then say, “Use the VidIQ connector to come up with your answer.” And then, let's send message and see what pops up.


It's asking, “Do you have a specific YouTube channel you'd like me to analyze?” I'm going to say, “Yes. Here's my channel.”


And then, it's asking you, “What metrics matter most for optimization? CTR potential (titles or thumbnails need to work), view velocity (content performs but isn't promoted well), ranking position (keywords where I'm two to five in search), all of the above or something else.”


I'm going to click all of the above. I'm also going to paste the link to my YouTube channel so that Claude knows what it's analyzing.


As you can see over here, Claude wants to use VidIQ channel videos from VidIQ. Make sure you click on always allow so that Claude and VidIQ are able to integrate and work together.


As you can see over here, it's populated some of my most popular long form content. Scrolling down, Claude also wants to use VidIQ keyword research from VidIQ so that it can research keywords that I'm ranking for that need optimization. Let's go ahead and click on always allow.


Claude came up with a number of keywords, such as Wix tutorial, that I'm ranking for that need optimization. It also provided me with related keywords that I can rank for, as well as the related score, monthly searches, competition, overall score, and in country, so that I can easily grow my YouTube channel.


All you have to do is keep chatting with Claude so that you can use both VidIQ and Claude to grow even further on YouTube.
