Wondering how to add downloadable documents on Wix? In this Wix downloads and Wix website tutorial, you'll learn how to add download button for Wix lead capture to add downloads in Wix. So let's get right into this Wix tutorial on how to make a Wix downloadable file with a Wix button.
First off, if you don't have a Wix account yet, just click on the link in the description box below to sign up for free. Once you've logged in to your Wix account, hover your mouse over the website you wish to add downloadable documents on Wix on, and click on the pencil icon to access its Wix editor.
In your Wix editor, click on the pages dropdown menu on the top, left-hand side, and click on the page in which you'll be adding Wix downloads to. If you want to add downloadable documents on Wix on a new page rather than on an existing page on your Wix website, make sure to watch my video on 'How To Make Separate Pages In Your Wix Website'. Once on the page you wish to add Wix downloads, add the specific element you wish to add a download to. You can add links in Wix to text, to an image, to buttons as well as to vector art. Let me show you how to add Wix downloads to each one of those.
To add a Wix download to text in Wix, click on 'add' from the left-hand side panel, and then on 'text'. Feel free to choose one of the themed text, titles or paragraph options, such as 'add heading 1', and then click on 'edit text' from its individual toolbar to change its font, font size and appearance.
When you're happy with how your text looks, click on the link icon from the text settings popup. Click on 'document' on the left, and then when asked what doc are you linking to, click on 'choose file'. You can either select one of the Wix downloads you've already uploaded to your Wix website, or click on 'upload media' on the top, left-hand side to locate the downloadable document you wish to add to your Wix website from your computer, Wix account, Google Drive, Facebook, Instagram, Dropbox, Google Photos, Flickr, DeviantArt, Dribble or link (URL).
Once you've located the downloadable document you wish to add to Wix, click on 'open', and then on 'add to page' at the bottom of the 'choose a doc' popup. If you so wish, click on the 'show this PDF in search results' link, and then on 'turn on indexing' so search engines can find it. To successfully add downloadable documents to text in Wix, click on 'done' on the bottom, right-hand side of the 'what do you want to link to' popup.
To add a Wix download to an image in Wix, click on 'add' from the left-hand side panel, and then on 'image'. Feel free to add an image to your Wix website from your downloads, from Wix's image collections, including free Wix images, free Wix illustrations or stock images, or from your social images, including from Facebook, Instagram or Flickr.

I'll go ahead and click on 'free Wix images', click on an image, and then on 'add to page' on the bottom, right-hand side. To add a downloadable document on Wix to this image, click on the link icon from the image's individual toolbar.
Just as before, click on 'document' on the left, and then when asked what doc are you linking to, click on 'choose file'. You can either select one of the Wix downloads you've already uploaded to your Wix website, or click on 'upload media' on the top, left-hand side to locate the downloadable document you wish to add to your Wix website from your computer, Wix account, Google Drive, Facebook, Instagram, Dropbox, Google Photos, Flickr, DeviantArt, Dribble or link (URL).
Once you've located the downloadable document you wish to add to Wix, click on 'open', and then on 'add to page' at the bottom of the 'choose a doc' popup. If you so wish, click on the 'show this PDF in search results' link, and then on 'turn on indexing' so search engines can find it. To successfully add downloadable documents to images in Wix, click on 'done' on the bottom, right-hand side of the 'what do you want to link to' popup.
To add a Wix download to a button in Wix, click on 'add' from the left-hand side panel, and then on 'button'. Feel free to add one of Wix's themed buttons, text and icon buttons, icon buttons, image buttons, document buttons or iTunes buttons.

I'll go ahead and click on one of Wix's download buttons. To add a Wix download to it, select one of the Wix downloads you've already uploaded to your Wix website, or click on 'upload media' on the top, left-hand side to locate the downloadable document you wish to add to your Wix website from your computer, Wix account, Google Drive, Facebook, Instagram, Dropbox, Google Photos, Flickr, DeviantArt, Dribble or link (URL).
Once you've located the downloadable document you wish to add to Wix, click on 'open', and then on 'add to page' at the bottom of the 'choose a doc' popup.
Lastly, to add a Wix download to vector art in Wix, click on 'add' from the left-hand side panel, and then on 'decorative'. Locate this 'vector art' section, and select one of the vector art options to add to your Wix website: featured, icons, animals and nature, logos and badges, or characters.
Click on the link icon from the vector art's individual toolbar, on 'document' on the left, and then when asked what doc are you linking to, click on 'choose file'. You can either select one of the Wix downloads you've already uploaded to your Wix website, or click on 'upload media' on the top, left-hand side to locate the downloadable document you wish to add to your Wix website from your computer, Wix account, Google Drive, Facebook, Instagram, Dropbox, Google Photos, Flickr, DeviantArt, Dribble or link (URL).
Once you've located the downloadable document you wish to add to Wix, click on 'open', and then on 'add to page' at the bottom of the 'choose a doc' popup. If you so wish, click on the 'show this PDF in search results' link, and then on 'turn on indexing' so search engines can find it. To successfully add downloadable documents to vector art in Wix, click on 'done' on the bottom, right-hand side of the 'what do you want to link to' popup.
Once you're done adding downloadable documents on Wix, click on 'save' and then on 'publish' on the top, right-hand side to make your changes active.
