In today's video I'm going to be sharing with you how to add downloadable documents on Wix. This is useful if you want to give your site’s visitors a PDF, for instance, that they can instantly download to their computer, without opting in to your email list.

There are two ways you can add downloadable documents on Wix: to a piece of text or on a button. To add a downloadable document to a piece of text, in your Wix editor, click on ‘+ add’ from the left-hand side panel, and then drag-and-drop one of the text options onto your page. Double click the text box to edit what it says, such as to ‘click here to download the document’.
Now with the entire piece of text selected, click on the link icon under the text settings popup. From this new popup that appears that asks you to select what you want your text to link to, switch the selection from ‘page’ to ‘document’.
Click on ‘choose file’, and then either drag and drop your document into the dashed area or click on ‘+ upload media’ and then ‘upload from computer’ to upload it from your computer. You can also upload documents for download to your Wix website from your Wix account, Google Drive, Facebook, Instagram, Dropbox, Google Photos, Flickr, DeviantArt, Dribble or from a link.
Locate the document you wish to add to your Wix website from the location of your choice, and then click on ‘open’ and on ‘add to page’. To link the document you just downloaded to your piece of text, click on ‘done’.
To add a downloadable document on a button, click on ‘+ add’ from the left-hand side panel, and then either click on ‘button’, and choose one of the themed buttons, text buttons, or icon buttons, or click on ‘more’ and choose a document button. To add any of these buttons to your website, drag-and-drop it to the location of your choice.
If you choose a themed button, text button, or icon button, you’ll be able to add a downloadable document to it from the link tab on its individual toolbar. Just like with the piece of text, you can select what you want this button to link to. Click on ‘document’, ‘choose file’, either upload a new document or select one from your library in Wix, click on ‘add to page’, and then on ‘done’.

If you choose a document button instead, you’ll be redirected to the choose a document popup from the moment that you click on the document button. To add a downloadable document to it, either upload a new document or select one from your library in Wix, and then on ‘add to page’, and then on ‘done’.
When we click on ‘preview’ from the menu up top, and then click on the piece of text and either one of the buttons, the document we just connected to our Wix website will be available for download, without your visitors having to opt in to your email list to receive it.
Once you’ve finished designing your piece of text or button to your choosing, remember to save your work, and click on the blue ‘publish’ button up top to make your changes active to all of your site’s visitors.
