In today's video I'm going to be sharing with you how to add your freebie PDF to Wix for download for your subscribers. This freebie, also called an opt-in or lead magnet, such as my FREE Facebook groups spreadsheet for bloggers, will be connected to a landing page or blog post on your site, in such a way that when a visitor fills out the opt-in form, they automatically receive the freebie in their email, without any extra work on your end.
So stay tuned until the end of this video to learn how to add your freebie PDF to Wix for download for your subscribers, and to get a FREE how to create a freebie in Canva guide to help you design your freebie if you haven't done so already, even if you're not design-savvy. We'll be using an email marketing software called ConvertKit to set up this automatic system. If you don’t have a ConvertKit account yet, just click on the link in the description box below to set yours up. They have a free plan, so you can get started today without paying a thing.
Once in your ConvertKit account, click on 'landing pages and forms', and then on the red 'create new’ button. You will be prompted with two options on how to gather subscribers: 'form' and 'landing page'. Click on ‘form’.
As for your form’s display format, which is the next question that pops up, click on 'inline', and as for your form template, click on 'choose' on the middle option in the top row.
You can rename the form by clicking on the pencil icon next to where it says 'Clare form', and changing that to your freebie's name.
You can edit the form’s text by clicking directly on the text and changing it from the panel that appears on the right. Remember to click on ‘save’ up top once you have finished making your edits.
To edit the form’s incentive email that's sent out automatically after someone subscribes to it, and add your freebie to said email, click on the ‘email’ icon. Make sure that 'send incentive email' has a green checkmark next to it, and then click on 'edit email contents'. Add your email from address, and edit the email's subject line, as well as message. You can even customize the text that appears on the button where your visitors will click on to get your freebie.
Once you've finished editing the incentive email, click on the x in the top, right-hand corner. To link that button we just customized to your freebie, where it says 'after confirming redirect to', click on 'download' instead of 'URL'.
Click on ‘choose a file’, select the freebie you created from your computer, and then click on 'open'. Again, remember to click on ‘save’ up top once you have finished making your edits.
To get the embed code of this form to add to your Wix website, click on ‘embed’ up top, then on ‘HTML’, and copy the entire piece of code that appears.
Back on your Wix website, either on your landing page or blog post, if you need help on how to create a landing page in Wix, I already created a tutorial on 'How To Make A Beautiful Landing Page In Wix That Converts' and on 'How To Build A FREE High Converting Landing Page In Wix', I'll leave the links to those in the description box below, paste the HTML code from ConvertKit.
For instance, click on a new line, then on the + icon that appears on the left, and select the code icon. Click on the pencil icon to add HTML code, paste your code from ConvertKit in the space provided, and then click on 'update'. Remember to click on 'publish changes' on the top, right hand corner to make these changes active.
To see how this form with your freebie PDF works in action, open up the blog post you just published, and fill out the form with your information. When you open up your email, you'll notice that there's an email from you waiting for you to take action. Once you click on the button in the email, your freebie will automatically open up, which you can download to your computer.
