Want to make the most out of your video content on your Wix website so that you get more views? You can do so by using the video gallery option within the Wix pro gallery, which I'll show you how to use in this video. Hi, I’m Marina, and I share simple tutorials for non-techie entrepreneurs as a non-techie entrepreneur.
To add a video gallery in Wix, log in to your Wix account, and access your Wix website editor. If you don't have a Wix account yet, click on the link in the description box below to sign up for free.
In your Wix editor, click on 'add' from the left-hand side panel, on 'gallery' and select one of Wix's pro galleries to add to your website: grid, thumbnail, stacked, masonry, showcase, slider, accordion, slide deck, or slider.
I'm going to select the grid Wix pro gallery. To transform this into a video gallery, click on the Wix pro gallery, and then on 'manage media'. If you wish to remove the media that Wix already added to the Wix pro gallery, hover your mouse over the media, click on the three little dots on the top, right-hand side, and then on 'remove'.
To add a video to your Wix pro gallery, click on 'add media'. Click on 'video' and then select one of three options: upload, YouTube or Vimeo.
When adding your own video from YouTube, make sure that in your video settings in YouTube the video is set to public and the 'allow embedding' box is checked. When adding a video from Vimeo, make sure that your video privacy settings are set to Anyone can see the video, and the embed settings are set to Anywhere.
I'm going to select 'YouTube', and paste the video's URL in the space provided. Unfortunately it's not possible to embed playlist links from YouTube or Vimeo. You must add a specific link to an individual video.
Wix will even remind you that the video must be set to public since private videos will not play for everyone. Once you have pasted your video link, click on 'add video'.
If your YouTube video doesn't have a thumbnail, the Wix pro gallery will display the default YouTube screen. Repeat the same process until you've added all the videos you wanted to your Wix pro gallery.
When done, click on 'save' on the bottom, right-hand side to successfully create your video gallery in Wix. Make sure to click on 'save' and then on 'publish' on the top, right-hand corner to make your changes active.
