The best place to create a lead magnet that attracts subscribers is in Canva. Even better, Canva is free to use, so if you don't have a Canva account yet, click on the link in the description box below to sign up for free.
In your Canva homepage, click on the search bar and search for lead magnet. A number of lead magnet templates will appear, which you can then filter by category, style, theme and color.
I'm going to filter them so that only the US letter documents are visible. This way, you can easily locate lead magnets which are workbooks, handbooks and checklists.
For each of these lead magnets, you can either keep hovering over them, or click on the three little dots that appear on hover, and then on 'preview this template' to view what each of the pages of the lead magnet looks like. Once you've found a lead magnet template that you wish to customize, click on 'customize this template'.
Just like with any Canva template, you can easily edit all of the existing elements so that they fit in with your brand and content. For instance, we can switch out this image to a stock photo, by clicking on 'photos' from the left-hand side panel, searching for online business, and dragging-and-dropping one of the photos that appears into the space provided.
We can change the background color by clicking on it, clicking on the color picker from the white panel up top, and changing the color to any other color of our choice, including your own brand colors if you're a Canva Pro user, which you can try out for free by clicking on the link in the description box below.
We can change the font of any section by double clicking on the text, clicking on the font picker from the white panel up top, and selecting one of the available Canva fonts, including your brand fonts and uploaded fonts if you're a Canva Pro user.
You can also add any new elements to this lead magnet from the multiple options on the left-hand side panel. For an entire guide on what you can add to your lead magnet, make sure to watch my video on 'How To Use Canva'. I'll leave the link to it in the description box below.
The great thing about Canva's lead magnet templates is that they provide you with a structure to create a lead magnet that attracts subscribers. For instance, this workbook has an enticing title page which you can use to promote your lead magnet, a welcome page, which you can switch out the content of, two workbook page templates, which you can duplicate the pages of and edit the numbers of, or delete if you don't want to use them, as well as a want to learn more page, which you can add a link to a complementary product or service.
Once you're done creating a lead magnet in Canva, edit the title of your lead magnet up top, and then click on 'share' on the top, right-hand side. Click on 'download', change the file type to PDF (either standard or print), select the pages you wish to download, and then click on 'download' again to save your lead magnet to your computer.
