ChatGPT Canva: How To Use ChatGPT OpenAI + Canva Tutorial - AI Automation + AI Tools

To use ChatGPT OpenAI and Canva for content creation, head over to ChatGPT. Click on plugins from the left-hand side panel, and then use the search bar to search for the Canva plugin.



Once this Canva create, review, edit designs plugin pops up, click on the plus sign next to it. This will redirect you to Canva.


A pop-up will appear saying ChatGPT would like access to your Canva account. It will automatically pop up the email associated to your Canva account. If this is not the Canva account you want to connect with ChatGPT, go ahead and click on switch accounts.


By connecting Canva to ChatGPT, you're actually allowing ChatGPT to read your user profile and account information, read your design metadata, create designs, read your design content, read your folders, upload, modify, and delete your folders, read the content of your team's brand templates, read metadata for your team's brand templates, publish brand templates to your team, post comments on designs, read comments on designs, read your asset metadata, upload, modify, and delete your assets, read metadata for your team's brand kits, and get help with designing in Canva.


To connect ChatGPT with Canva, go ahead and click on allow at the bottom. As you can see, the authorization has been successful, and Canva is installed and connected to ChatGPT.


So, how do we go about using ChatGPT and Canva?


Let's go ahead and click on new chat from the left-hand side panel. Click on the plus sign, and then click on Canva.


Now, in the space provided, write the prompt of what you would like ChatGPT and Canva to create. For example, create an Instagram post promoting my YouTube video on how to use Canva and ChatGPT together.


The more specific you are in this prompt, the better the design will be. You can even ask ChatGPT: ask me any guiding questions you feel are necessary to make this the best design possible.


Let's go ahead and click on send prompt and see what pops up.


ChatGPT said, "To make it feel distinctly Yes To Tech rather than like a generic AI post, I need these details.


One, should I use your Canva brand kit? If yes, I'll pull up your available brand kits for you to choose from.


Two, what exact headline should appear? For example, how to use Canva and ChatGPT together or a more benefit hook such as create better content faster with Canva and ChatGPT.


Three, should the post feature you? Choose between a photo of you, interface style, Canva and ChatGPT visuals or no person at all.


And four, what should the call to action say? For example, watch the full tutorial on YouTube, new video or comment video for the link.


You can answer in a compact form such as brand kit, yes, headline, option one, visual, no person, CTA, watch on YouTube.


Let's copy this and paste it over here and customize it to what we want it to look like.


Brand kit, yes, I want it as yes. Headline option, I prefer number two. Visual, I like this interface style Canva and ChatGPT visuals. And for the CTA, I want it to be watch the full tutorial on YouTube.


Let's go ahead and click on send prompt again and see what ChatGPT comes up with.


As you can see, ChatGPT is designing the Instagram post. This over here is the Instagram post that ChatGPT and Canva came up with.


If we click on it, we can then click to add a comment, change the aspect ratio, remove something from the post, share it by copying the link, sharing it to X, LinkedIn, Reddit, or even click to download.
