How To Add Downloadable Documents On Wix

To add a downloadable document to Wix, head over to your Wix site dashboard and then click on Edit Site on the bottom left-hand side. This will take you to your Wix website editor.

Click on the Pages drop-down menu on the top left-hand side, and then either select a page you want to add the downloadable document to or click on Manage Pages at the bottom to add a new page by clicking on Add New Page, and then either selecting one of the Wix page templates or clicking on Add Blank Page.

Once you do that, name your new page, such as "Downloadable Document," and then click on Done. X out of the Site Pages and Menu, and then click on the plus icon on the top left-hand side to add a new element.

Select Button, and then click on Document Buttons. For example, let's say I want to add a downloadable PDF. I'll go ahead and select this document button which says PDF to add it to my Wix page.

Once you've done that, click on the button and then on change file from its individual toolbar that appears. You can either select one of your site files that you already have on your Wix website or click on Upload Media on the top left-hand side to drag and drop a new file to connect to your Wix website and add to your downloadable button.

Let's go ahead and click on Upload from Computer. Select a file and then click on Open. Once that file has been uploaded, click on Choose File on the bottom right.

You can then go over these options from the individual toolbar to customize this document button. These include the Settings, where you can change the file, change the appearance, show the title of the document, as well as change what the document title is. You can also edit the SEO Settings to show this PDF in search results. All you have to do is click on Turn On Indexing in the pop-up that appears.

Under Design, you can change what the document button looks like. So let's select this one over here, for instance. Under Animation and Effects, you can choose an animation to add to your downloadable button on entrance, on scroll, or even on mouse effects.

To view what this downloadable button looks like so that you can add downloadable documents to Wix, click on Preview on the top right-hand side. Now, if we click on this document button, you'll be able to see that the downloadable document appears on a new tab.

To make these changes active, just click on Publish on the top right-hand side.
