To add a video to your Wix website, make sure you're on the right page you want to add the video to. Then, click on "Add Elements" from the left-hand side panel, and then on "Video and Music."
When it comes to videos, you can either add a single video player, a Wix video, a video box, a video mask, or even a transparent video. Let's click on "Single Video Player."
From here, you can either upload your own video by clicking on "Video Upload" or add a video to your Wix website from a third-party website, including YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook, or Daily Motion. I'm going to show you both how to add a video upload as well as a video from YouTube.
Let's first click on "Video Upload." With the video player selected, you can make changes to it from its individual toolbar that appears.
You can click on "Change Video" and then select a video from your computer by clicking on "Change Video" again. Click on "Upload Media," upload from the computer, locate the video file, and then click on "Open." Once the video has been uploaded, click on "Add to Page."
You can also set the playback options, including whether the video autoplays or not, as well as plays in a loop or not. If you wish, you can also add a video description, saying what the video is about.
Under "Layout," you can show the video title if you wish and then enter the video's title, as well as edit the controls, including the play button size, and when playing whether the control should appear on hover or never.
Under "Design," you can change the video design, the cover image, the fill color and opacity, the border, shadow, and text.
Under "Animation," you can choose an animation to add to your Wix video and then click on "Customize" at the bottom to edit the animation settings even further.
Once you're done adding the Wix video to your Wix website, click on "Preview" up top to make sure that everything looks the way you wish and then click on "Publish" on the top right-hand side to make your changes active.
Now, going back to the editor, let me show you how to add a video from YouTube instead. Just as before, click on "Add Elements" from the left-hand side panel, "Video and Music," and "Single Video Players." This time, let's select "YouTube."
Just as before, click on "Change Video," but instead, make sure that YouTube is selected. In the space provided, enter the video's web address. Feel free to customize the video settings, layout, design options, and animation just as before. To make your changes active, click on "Publish" on the top right-hand side.
