Have you asked yourself the question, "can Wix make videos?". In this Wix website tutorial, which was requested by Mica, you'll learn all about uploading videos on Wix with the Wix video maker, which is Wix's free online video editor that comes with Wix media. So let's get right into this Wix tutorial for beginners on how to add a video to Wix.
First off, if you don't have a Wix account yet, just click on the link in the description box below to sign up for free. To access the Wix Video Maker, head over to wix.com/tools/video-maker, make sure you're signed in to your Wix account, and then click on 'make a video'.
As mentioned in the FAQ section, Wix offers 4 free videos for you to test the Wix Video Maker. After that, you will need to upgrade to an Ascend plan. Once you click on 'make a video', the Wix Video Maker will prompt you to enter some details so that they can create the best video for you. It will ask you whether you want to create a video for your business or for your personal use. I'll go ahead and select 'my business'.
The Wix Video Maker will then ask you what kind of business you run, and add some suggestions, including retail store, yoga studio, photography studio, food blog and production house. Since I don't run any of these types of businesses, I'll go ahead and type in education instead.
The Wix Video Maker will prompt you with new suggestions, and I'll go ahead and click on 'education video blog'. It'll now ask you for your business name, so I'll go ahead and type in Yes To Tech. Once you're done filling out the details that the Wix Video Maker asks for, click on 'let's go' at the bottom.
This is where you can choose your media, including images and videos. As mentioned in the FAQ section, you can make a video with text, images, and your own video clips. With Wix you can upload a variety of file types. Photo file types include: JPG, JPEG, GIF, BMP, TIFF, PNG. Video file types include: 3GP, AVI, MOV, MP4, MPG, MTS, M2TS.
I'll go ahead and click on the box to upload an image from my files to the Wix Video Maker, and then click on 'open'. You can upload up to 15 files and a total of up to 60 minutes or 3.6 GB of video. Once you're done uploading all of the files that you wish to the Wix Video Maker, click on 'next' at the bottom.
This is where you can pick a theme that you like. You can hover over themes to preview editing styles for your video. I'll go ahead and select the 'sale' theme, and then click on 'next' at the bottom.
The Wix Video Maker will now prompt you to customize your font and colors. These include your main color, secondary color and font. I'll go ahead and add my colors and fonts, and then click on 'next' at the bottom.
Now you can add music to the video you're creating with the Wix Video Maker. It includes a number of music styles, including recommended for you, calm, celebration, chillout, cinematic, cute, dramatic, elegant, energetic, fun, funny, groovy, happy, inspirational, intense, love, nostalgic, positive, romantic, and more. Or, if you prefer not to add music, click on 'no music'. I'll go ahead and select 'good vibes', and then click on 'next' at the bottom.
The Wix Video maker will now prompt you to add text to your video. You can add opening text, which is a title for the beginning of your video, a main message, which is the text that'll be in the middle of your video, and closing text, which is where you can say something to end your video on a good note. I'll go ahead and fill out these sections, and then click on 'next' at the bottom.
This next section is where you can review your business info, which will appear at the end of the video you create with the Wix Video Maker. You can add your logo, business name, business tagline, social media URL, phone number, and address, or click not to show info. I'll go ahead and fill out the applicable sections, and then click on 'create video' at the bottom.
Once the Wix Video Maker has created your video, you can click play to preview your video. Let's go ahead and watch what they came up with. If you didn't enjoy the video, you can click on 'edit video' on the bottom left. If you liked the video, go ahead and click on 'save and share' on the bottom right.
Here are some additional frequently asked questions about the Wix Video Maker that are good to know. Can I share my videos on other platforms? You can share your videos on any social channel. Select wide, vertical or square aspect ratios for YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook posts.
Can I edit videos later? You can make unlimited edits to any video you create before you publish.
Can I use my videos freely for my business? When you make a video, it is free for you to use anywhere you’d like. You can promote your business or products, add your video to Instagram stories or posts, share to Facebook, upload to YouTube or use it on your Wix website.
How many videos can I create? However many you like! You can create up to 4 free videos with Wix's online video editor. After this, you'll need to upgrade to an Ascend plan to create more videos.
