How To Share Your Wix Website With Your Group Members

Wondering how to share your Wix website with your group members? In this Wix website tutorial, you'll learn how to access the Wix members area, invite people to your Wix website, give people access to your Wix site and assign them roles. So let's get right into this roles and permissions Wix tutorial where you can give access to Wix member only pages.

First off, if you don't have a Wix account yet, just click on the link in the description box below to sign up for free. To share your Wix website with your group members, log in to your Wix account, hover your mouse over the website you wish to share, and then click on 'select site'.

On the top, left-hand side, right below your website thumbnail, you'll see your site role, in my case, owner. Right below that, click on 'invite people' to access the Wix members area and invite people to your Wix website.

You can access these same features by clicking on 'settings' from the left-hand side menu, 'roles and permissions', and then on 'invite people' on the top, right-hand side. This section is where you can give people access to this site and assign them roles.

To share your Wix website with your group members, all you have to do is add that person's email in the space provided. To add multiple invitees, enter each email separated by a comma. You can then assign them a role. Feel free to select one or more roles for the people you're inviting.

These roles include general roles, such as admin (co-owner), in which the person has full access to manage, edit and publish the site, including billing, domains, and inviting people, but cannot delete or transfer the site. Website manager, in which the person has access to manage, edit and publish the site, but cannot manage billing, delete, duplicate or transfer the site. Website designer, in which the person can edit the site, manage settings and apps but cannot access Inbox, contacts and other sensitive info. And back office manager, in which the person can access the Dashboard to manage site settings and apps but cannot edit the site.

Billing roles, which include the billing manager, in which the person can make purchases, manage subscriptions, add payment methods and connect a domain to the site. And the domain manager, in which the person can connect and manage domains but cannot make purchases.

Marketing and customer manager roles, which include the marketing manager, in which the person can manage all marketing tools, contacts, automation, and view site analytics. And the customer relations manager, in which the person can manage contacts, forms, tasks, workflows, automations, and communicate in chat, but cannot export contacts.

Blog roles, which include blog editor, in which the person can fully manage the blog but not other areas of your site. And the blog writer, in which the person can write posts but cannot create or manage categories.

As well as payment roles, which is the payments manager, in which the person can view and manage customer payments, but cannot purchase domains or subscriptions. If none of these Wix website roles and permissions suit your needs, you can click on 'create new role' at the bottom to pick and choose permissions to suit your needs.

Once you've entered your group member's email address and selected their roles and permissions, click on send invite at the bottom. That person will receive an email, such as this one I received, saying that you've been invited to work on a website.

The email will include the email address of the person who invited you, as well as the URL of their website. To start collaborating, all your group member needs to do is click 'accept now’ and sign up to Wix for free if they don't have a Wix account yet. The website will be waiting for them in their Wix account.

For example, let me click on 'Wix' on the top, left-hand side to access my sites' dashboard. If you take a look at these two websites, there's a group icon on each one, since these websites weren't created by me, and I was invited to collaborate on them instead. If I place my cursor over the group icon, you can see that I've been assigned as the website manager for one of them, and as a website manager and one more role for the other.
