Wondering how to record your computer screen? In this screen recorder tutorial, I'll be sharing how you can screen record on a Mac even if you're not tech-savvy. If you want to record both your screen and face at the same time, make sure to watch my video on that topic, which I'll link to in the description box below.

By the end of this video, you'll know exactly how to record your computer screen for free so that you can easily create videos for YouTube, online courses, webinars and more. If you're excited about this video, make sure you like this video, hit the subscribe button and the bell to be notified every time I post a new video, and with that said let's jump right in.

We'll be using QuickTime to screen record on a Mac. Quicktime is a multimedia software that comes for free in all Mac computers, that allows you to record your face, screen, audio, or all three at the same time.

To open Quicktime, you can either go to finder, applications, and then select Quicktime, or use the search tool in the menu up top to open the spotlight search. Start typing in Quicktime, and click on the app to open it up.

When you open Quicktime, and click on 'file' from the menu up top, you'll be prompted with three options: new movie recording, new audio recording and new screen recording. My new screen recording option is greyed out because I'm currently using Quicktime to do this exact screen recording you're currently watching.

Once you click on 'new screen recording', a panel will appear at the bottom with a number of options. You can click to capture entire screen, capture selected window, capture selected portion, record entire screen, record selected portion, or click on options to save your capture or screen recording to desktop, documents, mail, messages, QuickTime player, or other location, add a timer that's 5 seconds or 10 seconds long, select a microphone, as well as other options including show floating thumbnail, remember last selection and show mouse clicks.

After you have either selected to record your entire screen or selected a portion of your screen to record, you'll be able to click on record to start your screen recording. Since I selected a 5 second timer, there will be a 5 second countdown before my screen recording starts. You'll know your screen recording has started when you see a black stop button in the menu on the top right of your screen.

Quicktime will now record absolutely everything that is on your screen or in the portion you selected. If you open up a new tab, new browser or new application, Quicktime will record that as well.

Once you're done recording your computer screen and wish to end the recording, all you have to do is click on the stop button in the menu bar up top, or click on command, control, escape on your keyboard, or, if you have a touch bar, you can click on 'stop' there as well.

A playback window will automatically pop up once your screen recording is over. You can play it right then and there to see what it looks like, or directly click on 'file' from the menu up top and then on 'save' to save your screen recording on your Mac.

If you plan on using this computer screen recording for your webinar, and wish to take your webinar efforts to the next level so that you boost your webinar sign up rate, increase the number of people who show up live, and skyrocket your sales, make sure to get my Webinar Sales Funnel Template by clicking on the link in the description box below.
