Wondering how to promote your YouTube channel? In this YouTube channel promotion and YouTube marketing tutorial, you'll learn how to make the most out of social media marketing and email marketing to get more views in less time. So let's get right into this how to promote your YouTube video tutorial so that you can grow your YouTube channel and start promoting your channel with ease.

Rather than just doing your video promotion after your video has gone public, which we'll be talking about in more detail in my next video on 'how to optimize YouTube videos', so stay tuned for that, there are a number of things you can schedule in advance to easily promote your YouTube channel.

These include scheduling an email broadcast, static Pinterest pins, Instagram posts and YouTube community posts. Let's go over each one.

To schedule an email broadcast, head over to your email marketing platform. I personally use ConvertKit for that, which you can try out for free by clicking on the link in the description box below.

To create a new email broadcast in ConvertKit, click on 'send' from the panel up top, on 'broadcasts' and then on 'new broadcast'. Now open up the video script document that you created, if you don't know 'how to write a script for a YouTube video', make sure to watch my video on that topic, I'll leave the link to it in the description box below, copy the YouTube video's title, and paste that in ConvertKit as your email subject line.

Click on the body of the email, type in hey, and then click on 'personalize' from the panel up top. Select 'subscriber's name', and then add an exclamation point.

Now locate the Instagram caption section in the video script document, copy the first two sentences of the first Instagram caption, and paste those in the body of the email. Make sure to make the second sentence bold.

Copy the fourth sentence of the first Instagram caption, paste it in the body of the email, and change where it says 'the profile link' to say 'here'. Make that section bold, and increase the font size to 20 pixels. Copy that entire sentence, and paste it in a new line right below it.

Add a space between these two same sentences, click on 'insert image' from the panel up top, on 'choose file', locate the video graphic GIF you created specifically for email marketing from your documents, and then click on 'open'.

If you don't know how to create a video graphic like this one, or like any of the ones we'll be using in this video, make sure to watch my video on 'how to make graphics for your YouTube videos with Canva'. I'll leave the link to it in the description box below.

Now click on the line below everything you added, type in 'alright' and then a comma, copy the third sentence of the first Instagram caption, and paste it in the body of the email. Click on return, type in 'so', copy the second sentence of the second Instagram caption, and paste it in the body of the email.

Click on return, type something along the lines of 'I'd love to hear your answer and start a conversation in the comments below the video!', and sign off like you normally do. Also add a P.S. to click here to tweet.

If you wish, add a P.P.S. with another call to action to watch your video. It can be something along the lines of 'Hey scroller! Want to learn', then the second sentence we added, 'Click here to watch now!'.

Before we add links to the video and to click to tweet, I add four sections below the main body of my email broadcast: resources mentioned, recent videos, tools and services I use, as well as shop my courses. Rather than type those out from scratch each time I create a new email broadcast, I save these in an email broadcast draft, copy them, and paste them into the email broadcast I'm currently working on.

Then all I have to do is delete any links that weren't mentioned, and add additional ones that were using the video script document as a guide. Now let's add links to this main part of the email. Double click on the 'click here' sentence, click on link from the panel up top, and then on 'insert link'.

Copy the YouTube video's URL from the video script document, paste it in the space provided, click to check the 'open link in new tab' box, and then click on 'insert'. Repeat the same process to add your YouTube video's link to all locations of your choice.

To add a link to the image, click on it, and then on 'edit'. Paste the link in the space provided, click to check the 'open link in new tab' box, change the position to 'center', and then click on 'save'.

To add a click to tweet link, select that piece of text, copy the click to tweet URL from the video script document, back in ConvertKit, click on link from the panel up top, and then on 'insert link'. Paste the click to tweet link in the space provided, click to check the 'open link in new tab' box, and then click on 'insert'.

If you don't know how to create a click to tweet link, make sure to check out my video on 'how to upload videos on Youtube' where I show you how to do that. I'll leave the link to it in the description box below.

Now that we're done editing this email broadcast to promote your YouTube channel, click on 'continue' on the bottom, right-hand side. For the subscribers I want to send this email broadcast to, I always select all subscribers, click to 'add a filter group', select matching 'none', click on 'add filter', select 'within segment', 'enrolled don't send', which are those subscribers of mine who are currently in a welcome sequence, challenge or free course, and then click on 'add filter'.

For more details on how to segment subscribers in ConvertKit, make sure to watch my video on 'How To Set Up Tags + Segments in ConvertKit'. I'll leave the link to it in the description box below.

Now click on the pencil icon next to where it says 'send now' to select a date and time when you would like to send this email broadcast, and then click on 'continue' on the bottom right-hand side again. To successfully promote your YouTube channel with email marketing, click on 'schedule broadcast' at the bottom.

We'll be using Tailwind to schedule our static Pinterest pins. If you don't have a Tailwind account yet, just click on the link in the description box below to get a $15 credit. Once you've logged in to your Tailwind account, click on 'original publisher' from the left-hand side panel, on 'create new pin' on the right, upload photos or videos, locate the two Pinterest pins you created in Canva, and then click on 'open'.

Once the Pinterest pins have been processed, copy the YouTube video's title from the video script document, and paste it in the 'enter a pin title' section on both pins. Head back to the video script document, locate the Tailwind caption you created, copy it, and on Tailwind, paste that in the 'enter a description' section on both pins.

Head back to the video script document once more, locate the read the post link you created in our previous video on 'how to repurpose content', if you haven't watched that yet, I'll leave the link to it in the description box below, copy it, and on Tailwind, paste that in the URL section of both pins.

Slightly edit one of the Pinterest pin descriptions since Pinterest doesn't like it when you post the same caption over and over. In this ‘type a board name’ section of the first Pinterest pin, enter up to 10 boards you want to add this Pinterest pin to, and then click on 'use interval' on the bottom, left-hand side.

Click on the date picker, select the date your YouTube video will be going live, in my case, September 1st, select the time you want to publish it at, and then click on 'done'. I always set the minimum time between each pin to 7 days, select optimized as the interval type, and check the last date that this pin will be published.

When scheduling the next Pinterest pin on Tailwind, I'll schedule it for 7 days after this last date. Once you're done setting everything up for the first Pinterest pin, click on 'set interval', and then on 'schedule'. Repeat the same process to schedule the second Pinterest pin to promote your YouTube channel.

We'll be using Later to schedule our Instagram posts. If you don't have a Later account yet, just click on the link in the description box below to get 10 extra posts for the month. Once you've logged in to your Later account, click on 'upload media', locate the Instagram posts you created in Canva, and then click on 'open'.

Drag-and-drop the first Instagram post, which is a regular Instagram post, to the date you'll be scheduling it, click on the dropdown menu next to the bell icon, and switch to 'auto publish'. Head over to the video script document, locate and copy the first Instagram caption without the hashtags, and in Later, paste that in the 'post caption' section.

Head back to the video script document, copy the hashtags for that first Instagram post, and in Later, paste them in the 'add first comment section. Head back to the video script document once more, copy the YouTube video's URL, and in Later, paste that in the 'add linkin.bio' section.

Make sure that you select the correct date and time when you want to schedule this Instagram post, and then click on 'save' on the bottom right-hand side to promote your YouTube channel.

The second Instagram post is a carousel post, so select all of the posts you'll be adding to the carousel, and then drag-and-drop them to the date you'll be scheduling it. Later is unable to auto publish carousel posts and add a first comment on your behalf so head over to the video script document, copy the second Instagram caption including the hashtags, and in Later, paste that in the 'post caption' section.

Repeat the same process as before to add the YouTube video's URL and to schedule the Instagram post to promote your YouTube channel.

Lastly, let's head over to YouTube to schedule the YouTube community posts. To access your YouTube community posts, head over to your YouTube channel, and then click on 'community' from the panel up top. You'll only be able to access this feature if you have over 500 subscribers.

In the YouTube community post, click on 'image', then on 'select from your computer', locate the same image you used for your first Instagram post, and then click on 'open'. Head over to your video script document, copy the first Instagram caption without the hashtags, in your YouTube community post, paste that where it says 'write a message', and change where it says 'the profile link' to say 'here'.

Head back to your video script document, copy the YouTube video's URL, and paste that after the first and last sentences. To schedule this YouTube community post to promote your YouTube channel, click on the downward pointing arrow, and then on 'schedule post'.

Select the date and time when you'll be scheduling this YouTube community post, and then click on 'schedule'. Repeat the same process to schedule the second YouTube community post, this time selecting all the images from the second Instagram carousel post and using the second Instagram caption.
