Now that you know how to start an online business and the best tools to start your online business, if not, I’ll link these two videos down below, it’s time to grow your online business. I’ll be sharing 4 marketing tactics that you can use to grow your online business, and how to come up with a high-converting sales funnel for you to make money online starting today.
The first way to grow your online business is through video marketing. The best place to do video marketing is on YouTube, since YouTube is the second largest search engine in the world, followed by its owner, Google, which is the first.
Video marketing is great since your target audience gets to connect and engage with you fast, building your like, know and trust factors. You can even start a YouTube channel to grow your online business without showing your face, which is actually how I got started, and keep creating videos that way forever, or transition to showing your face as you grow your confidence on the platform.
You need a strategy behind the videos you create in order to grow your online business with video marketing. Each video needs to have a specific purpose.
What do you want your target audience to do after they watch your video? Do you want them to click an affiliate link and make a purchase of a particular product or service you promote? Do you want them to join your email list? Do you want them to sign up for a webinar? Do you want them to book a call with you? Or do you want them to purchase one of your products or services?
For example, when creating my YouTube videos for video marketing, I think about my sales funnel at large, since that video is the very first step in the sales funnel. Each month, I create step-by-step tutorials on a particular topic or software, be it Wix, ConvertKit, Canva, webinars or something else, and my goal for each of these videos is to boost my affiliate marketing income and get my target audience to subscribe to my email list.
To grow your online business with video marketing, there are two types of videos you need to create: evergreen and viral. Evergreen content is content that’ll always be relevant. Even if you post it today, it’ll still be relevant in weeks, months and years to come. This type of content has a higher chance of being picked up in YouTube and Google search, and will work for you in the long-term, without additional effort on your end.
Viral content is content that’s high in demand right now, so it’ll work for you really well in the short-term to grow your online business fast. This includes content on new feature releases or new products that people are searching for reviews on right now.

The second way to grow your online business is through email marketing, which we touched upon earlier. The great thing about email marketing is that you own your email subscribers, contrary to the followers you have on social media platforms.
Those subscribers that you get on your email list can then be nurtured and prepped to not only consume the new free content you create, but also to purchase the products and services you put out. To get your target audience onto your email list, you need to give them something in return, called a lead magnet, freebie or opt-in incentive, for free, in exchange for their email address.
This lead magnet can be a free ebook, PDF, cheat sheet, checklist, worksheet, spreadsheet, webinar, class, challenge, course, or anything else that you can think of. The purpose of this lead magnet is to help your target audience achieve results faster or make their lives easier, in relation to what your ultimate goal is, which we’ll talk about more in a bit when we get to the sales funnel part.
Whenever I get a new subscriber onto my email list when doing email marketing to grow my online business, I always send them a welcome email sequence, and after they complete that sequence, 2 emails every week sending them to the new content I create, as well as relevant sales sequences about once a month depending on the type of content that they enjoy.

With ConvertKit, you’re able to create automations, and tag and segment subscribers, so that they automatically receive the right content for them.

The third way to grow your online business is through content marketing, which is actually how I got started in the online business world. You can do content marketing through blogging, and I do that on Wix, which you can try out for free by clicking on the link in the description box below.
The great thing about blogging for content marketing to grow your online business is that the tech setup is minimal so you can get started fast and with ease. All you need to do is keyword research on the topic you want to create, and then start writing.
You can do keyword research using the Google and YouTube search bars, Google Trends, Exploding Topics, Neil Patel’s SEO analyzer, or Answer The Public, all of which I’ll link to in the description box below. You can create stand-alone blog posts, repurpose your video marketing content on YouTube as blog posts, which is what I do, or get others to create blog posts for you through guest posting.

The fourth way to grow your online business is through social media marketing. There are a number of social media platforms that you can choose from, and each of them will help you achieve different results as well as target a different age group.
For instance, Facebook nowadays attracts an older age group, whereas TikTok attracts those in Gen Z and some millennials. Whereas on Facebook you may share interesting articles, on Instagram you can share eye-catching photos, on Twitter you may share quick updates, and on TikTok, short form videos.
The social media platform you choose will thus depend on the type of content you want to create to engage with your audience to grow your online business. With many of these social media platforms you’re also able to create live content to further connect with your target audience.

Once you’ve decided on the type or types of marketing you’ll be doing to grow your online business, it’s time to come up with your sales funnel. A sales funnel is the step-by-step process that someone has to follow to go from visitor to subscriber to customer.
In my video on how to start an online business, we talked about the different ways you can make money online, so now all that’s left to do is piece it all together. When coming up with your sales funnel, think about what your ultimate goal for your online business is.
For me, that ultimate goal is to sell my online courses, which you can learn more about by clicking on the link in the description box below, though for you that may be something else, like selling your coaching program or making money with affiliate marketing. That is the very bottom of the sales funnel so now we need to reverse engineer that sales funnel for you to achieve your ultimate goal.
At the very top of the sales funnel is the creation of high-quality, free content that directly relates to your ultimate goal so that you can attract targeted leads. In my opinion, the best place to create that free content is on YouTube.
Unlike a website or blog, which you need to pay for hosting and for a domain, you can start and grow a YouTube channel with $0 in startup costs. In order for your YouTube videos to become binge-worthy, so that you can grow your online business, you need to know how to create and edit said YouTube videos, which you can learn more about in my YouTube tutorials playlist.
Once you have attracted your target audience through your highly valuable, free content, it’s time to get them onto your email list, so that they move one step down in your sales funnel. Your email list is the most important resource in your online business.
You'll mention an opt-in incentive in all of your YouTube videos and add a link to it in your YouTube video description box. You connect said opt-in incentive to an email marketing platform.
I recommend ConvertKit, which you can try out for free by clicking on the link in the description box below, which is free for up to 1000 subscribers. Although you'll need to upgrade to ConvertKit's cheapest plan which costs $29 / month to gain automation features, you can manually add your subscribers to sequences until you're ready to upgrade.
The next step in your sales funnel is a tripwire that you offer to those who just signed up to your email list. This tripwire offer should be a one-time, fast action and high value offer at an oh-my-goodness-I-can't-believe-how-cheap-this-is price, to get your new subscriber to make the transition to paying customer as soon as possible.
You can create the tripwire landing page in Wix, which is my website-creation platform of choice, though I recommend creating it in Leadpages, which you can try out for free by clicking on the link in the description box below. The best part is that you can add a countdown timer to your landing page in Leadpages which automatically starts when someone signs up to your email list if you have them be automatically redirected to your tripwire page, so you don't need to do any extra work after you set up the automations (how’s that for passive income?).
After you've transformed your viewer into a subscriber, it's time to nurture said subscriber with a welcome email sequence, which is the next step of the sales funnel. This welcome email sequence should introduce yourself and your business.
The welcome email sequence can either be used to promote a higher-priced product directly or get your subscribers to sign up for a live or evergreen webinar. I recommend the latter since it converts better.
During this webinar, which is the final step of the sales funnel, you can then promote a higher-priced product, as well as follow-up with those who didn’t make a purchase through another email sequence.
