How To Sell Digital Products Without A Website - FAST & EASY Teachable Tutorial

To set up digital downloads in Teachable, either head over to Teachable and log into your existing account, or, if you don't have a Teachable account yet, you can either start for free or click on the link in the description box below to take 10% off Teachable Pro.

Once you've logged into your Teachable account, take a look at the options from the left-hand side panel and scroll down until you reach the digital download section. To create a new digital download, click on the “Create Digital Download” button on the top right-hand side.

Select what you would like to create — either Downloadable Files, where you provide a wide range of digital files directly to your customers, or Links, where you deliver exclusive content through secure redirect links. I'll select Downloadable Files, and then click on Continue.

From here, you're able to tell Teachable about your digital download. You can always change this information later. Give a name to your digital download, such as Kids Activity Bundle. Write a description of what your digital download contains, as well as select a category that describes your digital download.

This can either be an ebook, audiobook, digitally editable templates, worksheets or workbooks, static files, templates or patterns, information guides, articles or how-tos, art, icons or photography, video, music or podcasts, integrations or code snippets, fonts, brush packs or other design tools, or 2D or 3D design files. I'll select Static Files, Templates or Patterns, and then click on Continue at the bottom.

From here, you're able to add a thumbnail image. The thumbnail image is displayed at checkout and throughout the member experience. You can either upload one now or choose one later. If you decide to upload one now, the aspect ratio needs to be 16:9. The recommended size is 1,024 x 576 pixels, and you're able to use the upload area to double-check your image.

I'll go ahead and click on Upload, and then select a file to upload. Once I've selected that file, I'll go ahead and click on Upload. Once you've added a thumbnail image, go ahead and click on Continue at the bottom.

Now you're able to add your content to easily sell and deliver your digital products through downloadable files or secure redirect links. You can either choose to upload a file for direct download or provide a link to exclusive content hosted externally.

I'll select File Upload, and then click on Upload again. The accepted file types are PDF, EPUB, TXT, DOC, DOCX, JPG, GIF, PNG, TIFF, WEBP, CSV, XLS, XLSX, PPT, PPTX, MP3, M4A, AAC, and ZIP. So let's go ahead and select the files to upload, and then click on Open.

Once you've opened all the files, go ahead and click on Upload at the bottom. After uploading all your files which you want to sell as digital downloads, click on Continue at the bottom.

Now’s the time to set a price. You can always change this later. You can either select a One-Time Purchase, where your customer pays once; a Payment Plan, where you set a fixed number of monthly payments; Free, where you allow access to your content free of charge; or I Don’t Know Yet, where you can skip this step for now and add it later.

I'll select One-Time Purchase, and then click on Continue.

From here, you're able to add your pricing details. This includes the price (including the currency and amount), the pricing plan name — I'll type in One-Time Purchase — a pricing plan subtitle if you wish, where you can add an optional tagline to describe your pricing plan, a pricing plan description if you wish, where you describe to your customers what they should know about this price, as well as the option to increase conversions by 30% with Buy Now, Pay Later.

On a one-time purchase, students can split their purchase into installments. You're able to convert more students by providing more payment flexibility while you receive the full purchase amount upfront. I'll toggle this button over here to turn Buy Now, Pay Later on.

Once you're done setting your pricing details, click on Continue at the bottom.

This last step is for you to review your digital download. Here's what customers will see on the All Products page of your school's site. This includes the thumbnail, the name of your digital download, the author, as well as a description.

So, what’s next? The next step is to revisit the steps you've skipped, customize your sales page, and publish and sell your digital download. So let's go ahead and click on Finish to head over to this next step.

You'll be redirected to the information page of your digital download. From here, you're able to edit the basic details of your digital download. You must save changes you make here. This includes the product's name, category, description, and thumbnail; the content, including the content delivery method as well as the content offered in your downloadable; the product visibility, where you're able to hide or show your published digital download on the product catalog of your school site.

Or, if you wish, you're able to permanently delete this digital download, including content files and student enrollment records.

Under Pages, you're able to customize the sales and checkout pages of your digital products.

Under Pricing, you're able to edit the pricing of your digital download, archive the pricing of your digital download, or even add a new pricing plan. From here, you're also able to copy the checkout URL if you wish to embed this checkout page on another website.

Under Order Bumps, you're able to increase your average order value with order bumps. From here, you're able to add your first order bump to the checkout page and watch your revenue grow. To get started, click on Create Order Bump up top.

Under Coupons, you're able to create your first coupon to drive urgency so that people purchase your digital download ASAP. To add a new coupon, just go ahead and click on Add New Coupon up top.

Under Students, you're able to see all of the students who purchased your digital download.
