Wondering how to add a font in Canva on your phone? In this Canva font tutorial, you’ll learn how to upload fonts to your Canva account using the Canva app on your mobile device. If you want to import new fonts on Canva on desktop instead, make sure to watch my video on that topic. So let's get right into how to add your own font on Canva using your phone.
First off, if you don't have a Canva account yet, just click on the link in the description box below to sign up for free. As I mentioned in my video on how to import new fonts on Canva, you can only add a font in Canva with a Canva Pro account, which allows you to upload up to 100 custom fonts to your brand kit.
To add a font in Canva on your phone, head over to the app store, and download the Canva app. Once the Canva app has downloaded, click on 'open' to open it up. Now click on 'menu' on the bottom, right-hand side, and then on brand kit. Scroll all the way down until you reach this 'uploaded fonts' section.
To upload a new font to your Canva account, click on 'upload a font' at the bottom. Again, you can only upload a font to Canva if you have a Canva Pro account, which you can try out for free by clicking on the link in the description box below.
Once you've clicked on 'upload a font', click on 'browse', and then select a font from your files. Canva supports OTF, TTF, and WOFF font file formats.
A popup will appear asking you to confirm the following: "by uploading your own custom font, you acknowledge that you own the font file type you selected, or have the right to use it for your intended purposes". Click on 'yes, upload away' to upload that font to your Canva account using the Canva app on your mobile device.

Once your font has been uploaded, you can now use it in your Canva designs, both existing and new. To create a new Canva design, click on 'home' at the bottom, and select a design type of your choice. To access your existing Canva designs, click on 'designs' at the bottom, and select the design you wish to add your custom font to.
To add text with your Canva font to your Canva design, click on the plus sign on the bottom, left-hand side, click on 'text' at the bottom, and then on 'add a heading'. Type in your text in the space provided, such as 'this is my Canva font', and then click on 'done'. Still with your text box selected, click on 'font' at the bottom, scroll down to the 'uploaded fonts' section and choose the font you added to Canva from the available options.

To save your design which includes text with your custom Canva font to your phone, click on the download icon on the top, right-hand side, and then on 'save as'. Select the file type, size, and additional options if you so wish, and then click on the 'download' button at the bottom.
