Wix SEO: How To Change Meta Title Wix (Meta Tag In Wix)

Wondering how to change a meta title in Wix? In this Wix SEO tutorial, you'll learn how to use SEO on Wix to edit a meta tag in Wix. So let's get right into this SEO tutorial on Wix SEO tools on how to insert meta tags to a Wix site and how to find meta tags on a website so that you can make the most out of your search engine optimization efforts.

First off, if you don't have a Wix account yet, just click on the link in the description box below to sign up for free. After you've logged in to your Wix account, hover your mouse over the website you want to change the meta title of, and then click on the pencil icon to access its Wix editor.

In your Wix editor, click on 'menus and pages' from the left-hand side panel, locate the page you want to change the meta title of, such as the home page, click on the three little dots next to it, and then on 'SEO basics'.

In the search results, your Wix page information is composed of two parts: a title tag and a meta description. These meta tags are snippets of text that describe your page’s content. Although they're not visible on the page itself, they appear in the code and instruct search engines how to display the page in search results, which is how you'll make the most out of Wix SEO.

To add or change the meta title in Wix of this Wix page, do so under this what's the page's title tag (title in search results) section. Tell people what this page is about as it's the first thing they'll see when you're found in search results.

If you wish to take things to the next level and change your meta description as well, do so under this what's the page's meta description (description in search results). Tell people more about what your site has to offer and encourage them to view this page. Your description should be under 500 characters including spaces.

Once you're done changing the meta title in Wix and even the meta description in Wix, click on 'save' and then on 'publish' on the top, right-hand side to make your changes active. Keep in mind that publishing your site does not automatically update the information in search results, as it takes time for search engines to crawl and update your site information. To speed up this process, make sure that you verify your site with the Google Search Console and submit your sitemap directly to Google each time you publish new changes to your website.

You can also change the meta tags in Wix on your Wix blog. To do so, click on 'menus and pages' from the left-hand side panel, hover your mouse over where it says 'blog pages', click on the gear icon to access more actions, and then click on 'manage posts'.

Hover your mouse over the blog post you wish to change the meta title of, and then click on 'edit' on the right-hand side. Click on 'SEO' on the left-hand side. Under this 'SEO basics' section, you can edit your Wix blog post's title tag and meta description.

You can also click on the 'advanced' tab up top, and then on the arrow next to 'additional tags' to edit all of the meta tags of your Wix blog post, including the article author, article modified time, article published time, canonical, OG site name, OG type, OG URL and even add a new tag if you so wish.

Once you're done changing the meta title of your Wix blog post and even the meta description and meta tags if you so wish, click on 'publish' on the top, right-hand side to make your changes active.
