Wondering how to embed an Instagram feed app on Wix? In this Wix Instagram feed tutorial, you’ll learn how to add an Instagram feed to your Wix website.
By the end of this video, you’ll know exactly how to add the Wix Instagram plugin to add an Instagram feed to Wix. First off, if you don't have a Wix account yet, just click on the link in the description box below to sign up for free. Once you've logged in to your Wix account, click on the pencil icon above the website you want to add an Instagram feed to to access your Wix editor.
To embed an Instagram feed app on Wix, first click on the pages dropdown menu on the top, left-hand side to select the page you will be adding the Instagram feed to. Once on that page, click on 'add apps' from the left-hand side panel to access the Wix app market, and then click on the search bar on the top, left-hand side and search for 'Instagram feed'. Once that option pops up, click on it.
Wix the Wix Instagram feed plugin, you're able to display your Instagram feed on your site. To add it to your Wix website, click on 'add to site'. To switch from this generic Instagram feed to your own Instagram feed, click on 'settings' from its individual toolbar.
Under the 'main' tab, you're able to beautifully display your Instagram feed on your site. Simply log in to Instagram to connect your account, or click on 'create new account' at the bottom if you don't already have an Instagram account. Let's go ahead and click on 'connect Instagram'. A popup will appear stating that Wix would like to receive the following information about your Instagram profile: your profile information, which is required, and media, which is optional. Go ahead and click on 'allow'. You'll be redirected back to your Wix editor, where you'll see your Instagram feed embedded on your Wix website.
There are a number of things that you can do to customize this Instagram feed on Wix. Under the same 'main' tab you can click on 'add links' to link your Instagram photos directly to your products, site pages or any web address. Simply choose a post, add the link, customize the link settings, click on 'save link', and then on 'done'. You can access these same settings by clicking on 'manage links' from the Instagram feed's individual toolbar.
Under the 'customize' button or 'layout' tab, you can edit the Instagram feed gallery layout. Choose a layout (grid, slider or collage), and then select how many images to appear per row, the number of rows you wish to appear, as well as the spacing.
Under the 'settings' tab, you can add links from your Instagram feed to any page on your site or web address, as well as select whether you wish to show the feed in English, or in another language, enable the show more button or not, and select whether the photo expands to full screen or not.
Under the 'display' tab, you can set whether the Instagram photo's description appears on hover or not, and whether the Instagram photo's description appears in full screen or not.
Under the 'design tab', you can edit your Instagram feed's design for the gallery, including the show more button style, font style, text and border color, background color and border width, for the hover, including hover text font style, hover text and icons color, buy now banner color, and hover background color, and for the full screen photo, including a dark or light theme, and text font style.
Under the 'links' tab, you can again add links to your Instagram feed to direct visitors to products, pages or other websites.
And under the 'support' tab, you can access troubleshooting articles for your Instagram feed plugin, contact customer care, and review the Instagram feed app.
Let's x out of this Instagram feed dashboard, and click on the Instagram feed itself. We already covered the 'settings' and 'manage links' buttons from its individual toolbar. If you click on 'stretch' from the Instagram feed's individual toolbar, you can stretch the Instagram feed so that it occupies the entire width of your website or not. You can also click on the question mark icon to access the Wix editor help panel.
Once you're done adding your Instagram feed to your Wix website, click on 'publish' on the top, right-hand side to make your changes active. For more details on what you can do with Wix, make sure to check out my Wix tutorials playlist. I'll leave the link to it in the description box below.
