Wondering how to edit your Wix blog page and Wix blog post design? In this Wix blog layout tutorial, you’ll learn how to customize your Wix blog design.
By the end of this video, you’ll know exactly how to create your own blog design using Wix to create a blog on Wix that looks uniquely your own. First off, if you don't have a Wix account yet, just click on the link in the description box below to sign up for free. Once you've logged in to your Wix account, click on the pencil icon above the website you want to edit the blog design of to access your Wix editor.
In your Wix editor, click on the pages dropdown menu, and then on 'blog' to access your Wix blog feed. You can access this same page by clicking on 'my blog' from the left-hand side panel, 'blog pages' and then on 'blog'.
To edit the layout of your Wix blog page, click on the blog, on 'settings' from its individual toolbar, and then on 'layout' on the blog popup that appears. Under this 'layout' tab, you can edit the layout of both the all posts feed and of the category feed of your Wix blog. The settings for both of these options are the same.
You can choose a layout (side by side, editorial, tiled, magazine, full post or one column), select the image resizing format (crop or fit), select the image ratio (4:3, 1:1 or 3:4), set additional image settings, including image alignment and image proportions, edit the layout settings, including spacing between posts, margins, text padding (left and right), number of lines for title, number of lines for description, and select how your posts should load on your feed (on scroll down or with page numbers).
Under this 'design' tab, you can edit your Wix blog design for the Wix blog page. You can edit the appearance of the Wix blog menu, including font style and color, font color for clicked and hover, and background opacity and color, of the posts feed, which has the same settings for both the all posts feed and category feed, including title style and color, description style and color, text color on hover, border opacity and color, and border width, of the buttons and margins, including the button text color and background color, and the feed area background opacity and color, as well as of the video settings, including play videos on hover, autoplay or on click, play with sound or not, playback speed, and loop videos or not.
Let's x out of this Wix blog page editor and head back to the Wix editor at large to now edit the design of your Wix blog post. To do so, click on 'my blog' from the left-hand side panel, 'blog pages' and then on 'post. Just as before, click on the blog post, on 'settings' from its individual toolbar, and then on 'design' on the post popup that appears.
You can customize the appearance of your Wix blog post design blog menu, including the navigation menu font style and color, font color for clicked and hover, and background color and opacity, of the post headings, including title (H1) style and color, heading 2 (H2) style and color, and heading 3 (H3) style and color, paragraph, including text style and color, quote style and color, and links and hashtags, and post background border opacity and color, and border width, of the buttons and margins, including button style text color and background color, and post margins opacity and color, as well as of the tags, including the option to show a tag label or not, select the tag layout (button layout or text layout), select the tag alignment (left, center or right), edit the vertical spacing and horizontal spacing between tags, edit the text's vertical padding and horizontal padding, and edit the regular tag design, including font style and color, background color, border opacity and color and border width, in addition to the tag design on hover, including the font color and background color.
Once you're done customizing your Wix blog layout for both the Wix blog page and Wix blog post, click on 'publish' on the top, right-hand side to make your changes active.
