Today, I'm gonna show you a super cool trick: how to use your iPad as a second monitor. Whether you've got an iPad, iPad Pro, iPad Air, or even an iPad Mini, we've got you covered. Plus, we'll talk about using it on both Mac and Windows. So, stick around for some serious iPad productivity boost!



Before we dive into the technical stuff, make sure your iPad and your computer are both on the same Wi-Fi network. It's like they're best friends who need to be in the same club.


If you're rocking a Mac and have a relatively recent iPad, Apple's got your back with a feature called Sidecar. To enable it, follow these steps:


  • Connect your iPad to your Mac using a USB cable or wirelessly via Bluetooth.

  • Click the Apple logo in the top-left corner, go to System Preferences > Displays.

  • You'll see your iPad listed under "AirPlay Display." Click it!

  • Choose whether you want to use your iPad as an extended display or mirror your Mac's screen. Your call!


Now, if you have an old iPad like I do, if you're a Windows user or want more customization, check out a nifty app called Duet Display. Here's what you need to do:


  • Download the Duet Display app on your iPad and install the desktop client on your computer (Windows or Mac).

  • Connect your iPad to your computer using a USB cable.

  • Launch the Duet Display app on both devices.

  • Boom! Your iPad is now an extra monitor.


Okay, so you've got your iPad as a second monitor. Nice! But let's talk about making it work for you:


  • In Mac's Sidecar, open System Preferences > Displays to adjust resolution and other settings.

  • Duet Display lets you configure the setup further, like choosing the position of your iPad relative to your main screen.

  • You can drag windows, apps, or even your Spotify playlist onto your iPad for a clutter-free main screen.


Now that you have that snazzy second screen, get to work! Use it for multitasking, designing, coding, or whatever you need. Your productivity game just leveled up!
