Wondering how to easily choose a winner for an Instagram giveaway? In this Instagram giveaway tutorial, I'll be sharing how to pick a winner on Instagram giveaways. If you don't know how to run a successful giveaway on Instagram, make sure to watch my last video, which I'll link to in the description box below.
By the end of this video, you'll know exactly how to randomly select a winner for your Instagram giveaway while ensuring that they followed all the rules you set. As we talked about in my last video on running a successful Instagram giveaway, most Instagram giveaways will have you enter the giveaway by liking and commenting on an official giveaway photo, tagging friends, as well as by following the Instagram account that the giveaway is on. We'll be using an Instagram giveaway winner picker called commentpicker.com, I'll leave the link to it in the description box below, to find a random winner for our Instagram giveaway, and then checking if that winner actually followed all the rules we set.
So let's head over to commentpicker.com, and click on 'Instagram' and then on 'Instagram comment picker (free)'. As you can see, this is a free Instagram random winner picker for your giveaway or contest.
This tool can be used by Instagram Business and Instagram Creator accounts which are connected to a Facebook page. If you don't have an Instagram Business or Instagram Creator account, stay tuned for my next video, which is about how to create an Instagram page for business.
So let's go ahead and click on 'login with Facebook' to get started, and follow the steps in the popup that appears. Once you've linked the Instagram comment picker to your Facebook page, you'll be able to select the Instagram post to choose a comment from, which is your official giveaway photo.
The Instagram comment picker makes it easy for you by adding the date in which the Instagram post was published, as well as the description. Click on your official giveaway photo post once you've located it.
Now here's the fun part: based on the rules you selected for your Instagram giveaway, you can set giveaway options to filter the giveaway entrants. If you asked your Instagram giveaway entrants to tag a specific number of friends, you can set this number in this minimum amount of @mentions in one comment section.
You can also include comment replies as a giveaway entry, so if someone replies to a comment and follows the giveaway rules, they'll still be considered, filter duplicate users, which you should only tick if you only allow one giveaway entry per user, if you allow unlimited entries, make sure that this is not ticked, filter comments based on a specific text, which is where you can add a giveaway hashtag or emoji, for instance, that those who entered had to add to their comment in order to be considered, add extra entries, which is great if you used the Interact Quiz Maker landing page which I mentioned in my last video, to provide extra entries for those who joined your email list or followed you on other social media platforms, or even exclude / blacklist users if you so wish.
Once you've set all the Instagram giveaway settings, click on 'get comments'. The Instagram comment picker will tell you the number of unique comments that will be entered into the giveaway, and then click on 'start raffle and pick a random winner' to easily choose a winner for your Instagram giveaway.
Once the Instagram giveaway winner has been selected, you'll be able to see the comment that they left and check if it abides by the giveaway rules that you set. To make sure that that person is following you on Instagram, head over to your Instagram account on your phone, click on 'followers', and use the search bar to locate that person's handle.
To make sure that that person liked your official giveaway photo, head over to your Instagram account on your computer, click on the official giveaway photo, and then on the photo's likes. Use your computer's search feature to locate that person's handle.
If they followed all of the Instagram giveaway rules you set, in other words, if they liked and commented on the official giveaway photo, tagged the right number of friends, and followed the Instagram account that the giveaway was on, they're officially your Instagram giveaway winner.
