How To Create Vertical Text In Canva

To create vertical text in Canva, either use the search bar or one of the suggested design options to locate the Canva design type of your choice. In my case, I'll go ahead and select Instagram Story, which is the perfect design template size to demonstrate how to create vertical text.

Under the Design tab from the left-hand side panel, choose one of the design templates of your choice. I'll select this very first one that says Tutorials and click on it, and then I'll click on the page to add it to my design.

To change this horizontal text to vertical text, I'll first select the text box and then drag the slider so that all of the letters under the word "Tutorials" are stacked one on top of the other. Then, feel free to resize and reposition that text box so that it's in the location of your choice.

You can then either delete design elements from the page or add new ones from the left-hand side panel. Once you're done creating vertical text in Canva, make sure to rename your design up top, such as to "Vertical Text Tutorial," and then click on Share on the top right-hand side.

Click on Download, select the file type of your choice, as well as any of the other available options, and then click on Download to save your Canva design with vertical text to your computer.
