To use Canva Magic Edit, log in to your Canva account and make sure you have a Canva Pro Plan. From the left-hand side panel, click on Magic Studio. Then, scroll down until you reach the Magic Edit section.
With Canva Magic Edit, you're able to add, replace, or edit images with a short written prompt. Let's go ahead and click on this Magic Edit option to get started.
So, what is Canva Magic Edit exactly? Well, with Canva Magic Edit, you're able to reimagine your images by swapping objects and changing colors with a single text prompt. You're able to select the part of your image that you want to change, write what you want to add, replace, or change, and watch it happen. Pair with Magic Morph to add your custom style to elements or text. Let's go ahead and click on "Try Magic Edit" to get started.
The first step when using Canva Magic Edit involves brushing over the area you want to edit. Over here on the left, you're able to change the brush size by toggling this little circle. Let's start by selecting a brush size of 30 and brushing over the entire handbag. For even more precision, the handles, let's decrease the brush size to about 15 and brush over that as well. Let's make the brush size even smaller, to about 10, to get the tippy top of the handbag.
With Canva Magic Edit, you're also able to select the whole image if you wish and reset brushing if something doesn't look the way you wish. Once you're happy with your brush selection, click on "Continue."
On the left, in the second step, you have to describe your edit, and it will be created for you using AI. Let's follow these steps and write "fluffy faux fur" in the box under "Describe your edit." The Canva Magic Edit toolbar also provides you with some inspiration if you're out of ideas, such as "add a deer," "change color to red," or "change color to green."
Once you're happy with the edit that you chose, click on "Generate." The Canva Magic Edit tool will provide you with a number of options; you can click through them to select which one you like the most. I really enjoyed this last option over here. Once you're done using the Canva Magic tool, click on "Done" at the bottom.
Just like with any regular Canva design, you can then go ahead and click on any of the options from the left-hand side panel to add additional elements, text, photos, audio, videos, etc., to your Canva design.
Once you're happy with how it looks, make sure to rename your Canva design up top, and then click on "Share," "Download," and follow the prompts that appear before clicking on "Download" again to save your design created with a Canva Magic Edit tool to your computer.
