Youtube Auto Dubbing Viewer Fix: How To Turn Off YouTube Automatic Dubbing On Mobile and Desktop

To turn off YouTube auto dubbing while watching a video on your mobile device, open any YouTube video that is being auto dubbed. Tap the gear icon, which are the settings, in the top right hand corner of the video player, and then click on audio track. Switch from the dubbed auto version to the original version and then just play the video as usual.



If you want to prevent YouTube from assuming you want auto dubbed audio in the YouTube app, click on your profile picture on the bottom right hand side and then on settings on the top right hand side. Click on languages and make sure that the app language is set as the language you want to hear videos in. In my case, it's set to English.


Another thing you can do is, heading back to the settings, click on general up top, and then on location, and then set the location of a place which has the language you want the YouTube videos to be in. In my case, I set it to United States to avoid forced auto dubbing in some regions.


Now, if you want to turn off YouTube auto dubbing on desktop instead, open up any YouTube video that is being auto dubbed, click on the gear icon to access settings, on the player at the bottom, click on audio track, and then switch it to the original audio.


Another thing you can do is disable auto translated captions since sometimes YouTube thinks you're requesting a translated caption, and then switches the audio track too. Click on settings on the video just as before, which is the gear icon. Go to subtitles and either choose off or select your main language instead of auto translated if that option appears, just as we did on mobile.


You can also fix the YouTube language preferences. To do so, click on your profile picture on the top right hand side and then select your display language. In my case, that is set to English. Also, make sure that the location is set to a region that doesn't force auto dubbing. In my case, it's set to United States since I want the videos to appear in English.
