Wix Landing Page: Wix Landing Page Tutorial (Landing Page Wix)

Wondering how to create a landing page in Wix? In this Wix landing page tutorial, you’ll learn how to make a landing page in Wix that converts your Wix website visitors into subscribers.

By the end of this video, you’ll know exactly how to build a landing page using Wix by using the highest converting landing page design tips. First off, if you don't have a Wix account yet, just click on the link in the description box below to sign up for free. There are two ways that you can create a Wix landing page: you can create a stand-alone landing page using one of Wix's landing page templates or you can create a landing page as a page on your website.

In this Wix landing page tutorial I'll be showing you how to create a landing page from scratch as a page on your website. I'll leave the link to it in the description box below.

To create a landing page in Wix, log in to your Wix account, and click on the pencil icon above the website you want to add a landing page to access your Wix editor. In the Wix editor, click on the pages dropdown menu on the top, left-hand side and then on 'manage pages' at the bottom.

Click on '+ add page' and either select one of Wix's page templates, or click on the '+ blank page' button on the very top, left-hand side, which is what I'm going to do. Name the page you just created, such as 'landing page' and then click on 'done'.

As I mentioned in my video on 'what is a landing page', if you haven't watched that yet, I'll leave the link to it in the description box below, one of the main characteristics of a landing page is that it doesn't have a header or a footer. To remove the header and footer from this landing page we just created, click on the three little dots next to it, and then on 'settings'.

Under the 'page info' tab, you can remove this landing page from the menu if you so wish, which is what I usually do, since I create a number of landing pages in my Wix website that serve as different opt in pages for lead magnets, and house all of those landing pages in a general resources page. Now click on the 'layouts' tab, and switch the layout from 'standard' to 'no header or footer'.

Let's x out of this pages dropdown to start creating our landing page in Wix. The first thing we'll do is add an image to serve as the background of this landing page. To do so, click on the page and then on 'change page background'.

Under the 'pages background' popup that appears, click on 'image', and either upload an image from your device, select an image you already added to your Wix website from your library, or click on 'media from Wix', 'Shutterstock' or 'Unsplash' from the left-hand side panel to choose an image you can add to your landing page background. Once you've located an image which you like, click on it, and then on 'change background' at the bottom.

Now click on 'add' from the left-hand side panel, 'box' and select a box of your choice. Click on 'change design' from the box's individual toolbar, and then on 'customize design' from the 'box design' popup. Change the box's fill color to white, and then resize and reposition the box so that it's centralized on your Wix landing page.

Now let's add some text to this landing page we're creating in Wix to transform it into an opt in landing page. To do so, click on 'add' from the left-hand side panel, 'text', and then on 'add heading 1'. Double click on the text box and type in what you're offering on this opt in landing page, such as a free cheat sheet.

Feel free to change the text's font, font size, and appearance from the 'text settings' popup. Reposition the text box so that it's at the very top of the white box on your Wix landing page.

Let's repeat the same process to add some text, by clicking on 'add' from the left-hand side panel, 'text', but this time let's click on 'add heading 2'. Double click on the text box and type in a little bit more information about your opt in, such as a 'want a FREE cheat sheet that shows you exactly how to create a landing page in Wix?'.

Feel free to change the text's font, font size, and appearance from the 'text settings' popup. Reposition the text box so that it's around the middle of the white box on your Wix landing page.

Now let's add a couple of design elements to this landing page in Wix to get your site's visitors to opt in. The first thing we'll add is a solid line between these two pieces of text. To do so, click on 'add' from the left-hand side panel, 'decorative', and then on 'horizontal lines'. Click on the thinnest horizontal line and then drag-and-drop it so that it's between the two pieces of text.

The second thing we'll add is a downward pointing arrow below this second piece of text. To do so, click on 'add' from the left-hand side panel, 'decorative', and then on 'arrows'. Click on the arrow of your choice, rotate it so that it's pointing downwards, reduce its size slightly, and drag-and-drop it so that it's below the second piece of text. If you wish, you can click on the arrow, and then on 'design' from its individual toolbar to change its fill color.

The last thing that's missing in this Wix landing page is a signup form where your site's visitors can opt in to receive this free cheat sheet. You can either embed a signup form directly from your email marketing platform or even from Wix on this landing page, or add a button which links to a popup, which has the signup form within it, just like I did in this opt in landing page of mine.

In this Wix landing page tutorial, I'll be showing you how to add a button which links to a popup, but if you wish to embed a signup form from Mailchimp, ConvertKit or Wix to this Wix landing page, make sure to watch my videos on these topics. To add a button to this landing page in Wix, click on 'add' from the left-hand side panel, 'button' and click on a button of your choice. Drag-and-drop it so that it's below the arrow. If you wish to customize this button further, make sure to watch my video on 'how to add, link and customize a button on Wix'. I'll leave the link to it in the description box below.

Now let's create the popup box that'll include the email sign up form. To do so, click on 'add' from the left-hand side panel, 'interactive', and then under this 'lightboxes' section, select a 'subscribe' lightbox of your choice to add to your Wix landing page.

Customize the lightbox's text so that it relates to the free offer you're giving away in the landing page you're creating in Wix. Replace this 'never miss an update' piece of text with 'fill out the form below now' and the 'get your name of the list' piece of text with 'to get the FREE cheat sheet in your inbox!'. Feel free to change the alignment, font color and position of these elements.

If you click on this email subscribe form, you'll notice that it's one of Wix's get subscribers forms. If you're using another email marketing platform instead, such as Mailchimp or ConvertKit, make sure to delete this Wix email opt in form and embed that email opt in form instead.

Once you've added your email opt in form to this lightbox, click on the lightbox at large, and then on 'set triggers' from the lightbox's individual toolbar. Rename the lightbox so that you can locate it with ease, and click on 'no' under where it says 'automatically display lightbox on all pages'. Then click on 'animation' from the lightbox's individual toolbar, and make sure that 'none is selected'.

Click on 'exit mode' to return to your Wix landing page. Now let's click on the button again, select 'link' from the button's individual toolbar, and then on 'lightbox'. Select the lightbox you just created from the dropdown menu, and then click on 'done'.

Now if we click on 'preview' up top, you can see your Wix landing page in action. When we click on the 'download file' button, the lightbox with the email opt in form appears. If you're happy with how the landing page you just created in Wix looks like, click on 'publish' on the top, right-hand side to make your changes active.
