Instagram Carousel Post: How To Change Photo Order In Instagram Carousel AFTER Posting

Instagram has recently released a feature where it allows you to reorder your carousel posts. It says that all you have to do is find the Instagram carousel post, click on the three little dots on the top right hand side, long press and drag to reorder them. Although you can reorder and remove items post-publish, you can't add new media yet.

However, based on the comments from this Instagram post, we can see that a lot of people are unable to access this new Instagram reordering feature. So, what do you do?

In this video, I'll be sharing a workaround with you so that you can reorder your Instagram carousel posts if this feature isn't available to you yet.

To change the photo order in an Instagram carousel after posting, open Instagram. Click on your profile picture on the bottom right hand side. Locate the Instagram carousel post you want to reorder. Click on the three little dots on the top right hand side and then click on edit.

Swipe to the photo you want to change the order of. Click on the trash can in the bottom left hand side and then click on delete. Repeat this process for all the photos you want to reorder in your Instagram carousel. Once you're done doing so, click on done on the top right hand side.

Now you have to add the photos in the order you want them to be in the Instagram carousel. Navigate back to your Instagram profile. Click on the three little lines in the top right hand side and then click on your activity. Head over to recently deleted.

Select the first photo you want to add back to the Instagram carousel. Click on the three little dots on the top right hand side and then click on restore. Click on restore again.

Repeat the same process for all of the photos you want to add back to the Instagram carousel. So, just click on it, click on the three little dots on the top right hand side, click on restore, and then on restore again.

Head back to that Instagram post, and you will now see it with the new order you just added.
