How To Share Youtube Video On Instagram Story | How To Post YouTube Videos On Instagram Story

In this Instagram tutorial, I’m going to show you how to post your YouTube videos to Instagram stories so that you get a lot more views on your YouTube video. So, we’re going to use Canva to create an Instagram Stories template to post our YouTube video to Instagram stories. Alright, so in Canva, go ahead and type ‘Instagram stories’ in the search bar, and click on the Instagram story template.

The first thing we’ll do to customize this Instagram story template is add a laptop mockup as the background image. To do so, click on ‘photos’, and search for ‘laptop’ in the search bar. Let’s add this first photo that appears by dragging and dropping it onto our design. To reposition the image to make it centralized, double click on it, drag it, and then press ‘done’. If you’re excited for your new Instagram story template to promote your YouTube video, type in Instagram story in the comments below.

Now we’ll make this white laptop screen black so that it better frames our video. Click on ‘elements’, and under ‘shapes’, click on the rectangle. Resize it so that it covers the laptop screen, and change its color to black by clicking on the color picker up top, and then on black.

Before we add our video to the laptop screen, let’s add some text to promote our new video that was just released. Click on ‘text’ from the panel on the left, select ‘add a heading’, reposition it, write ‘new video live’, and change the text’s appearance so that it fits in with your branding. I’ll change the font to ‘raleway heavy’ and increase the size to ‘72’. Now let’s copy this text by clicking on ‘copy’ on the right, reposition it, change the text to ‘link in bio’, and reduce the text size to ‘56’.

Okay, so now to the fun part: let’s add our YouTube video clip onto our laptop mockup screen. If you watched my video on the quick and easy to way to post your YouTube videos to Instagram, you’ll know how to download YouTube video clips onto your computer. If not, the link to it is in the i above and in the description box below.

Once you have downloaded your YouTube video clip that’s less than 15 seconds long, click on ‘uploads’ from the left panel, then on ‘upload an image or video’, locate your Youtube video clip, and then press ‘open’. When your YouTube video clip has been uploaded to Canva, and processed which may take a few minutes, drag and drop it onto your design, and resize and reposition it so that it looks like it’s part of your laptop mockup screen.

Now that your design is ready, click on ‘download’ button on the top, right-hand corner, and change the file type to video, and then press ‘download’. Send yourself your design by email or save it to Google Drive or Dropbox so that you can open it up on your mobile device.

On your phone, open up the file you sent, and save it to your camera roll. So to post your YouTube video to Instagram stories, open up Instagram, and simply post the Instagram story design you just created in Canva with your YouTube video to your Instagram stories.
