How To Join Zoom Meeting

To join a Zoom meeting, you first need to find your meeting invitation. Look for the Zoom link in your email, text message, calendar, or chat. As you can see over here, I was emailed this Zoom meeting link.
The next step is to open the link. Your device may open the Zoom app or give you the option to continue in your browser. As you can see, I can either click join from Zoom workplace app or join from browser. If you don't have the Zoom workplace app installed yet, you can download that right away. I'll click on join from browser.
Sometimes, Zoom may require you to enter the meeting details. You will see those in the invitation. If you're not joining the Zoom meeting through a direct link, such as I did over here, you may have to enter the meeting ID, as well as the passcode, in order to join.
Now, it's time to check your audio and camera. Choose your microphone, speaker, and video settings before entering. If you wish, you can also continue without a microphone and camera. I'm going to click on use microphone and camera, and then on allow while visiting the site.
As you can see over here at the bottom, I'm both muted and my video is off. To unmute, I'll click this button over here, and I can see that my voice is being heard, since the microphone is increasing and decreasing in volume as I speak.
The same goes with the video. To turn my video on, I'll click this button over here. And now you can see me.
To customize additional settings in your Zoom meeting, click on more here at the bottom, and then on settings.
If you click on video, you can select whether you want to stop your video when joining or not; mirror your video or not; hide self view if you don't want to see yourself while you're in the Zoom meeting; hide non-video participants; as well as whether you want to show yourself as an active speaker when you talk or not.
You can also use hardware acceleration for receiving video and for sending video. Here at the bottom, you can change the video rendering method from auto to any one of these other options, as well as select whether you want to use web RTC strategy, or disable it, or enable it, or have it set as auto, which is what I have.
Under audio, you can also test the speaker and test the microphone. As you can see here, the input level is increasing and decreasing as I speak. So, the microphone is working properly.
And you can change the audio profile by changing the background noise suppression. You can have the Zoom background noise removal option turned on, or have the browser built-in noise suppression if you prefer.
You can also select whether you wish to mute your microphone when joining a meeting, press and hold space key to temporarily unmute yourself, and sync buttons on headset.
In addition, when joining a Zoom meeting, you can change the background of yourself in the Zoom webinar. You can have it set as none, blur, or add a random background.
If we exit out of this popup, you can click on participants over here on the left, hover over your name, click on more, and then on rename to change how your name appears to other participants in the Zoom meeting.
Once you're ready to leave the Zoom meeting, click on end over here at the bottom, and then on leave meeting.
For even more Zoom tips and tricks, make sure to check out the video on the screen right now.
