Have you been wondering how to grow your YouTube channel fast even if you have 0 views and 0 subscribers? In this video, I'll show you 10 secrets on how to promote your YouTube video when you have zero subscribers to make your YouTube channel grow.
By the end of this video, you'll know exactly how to grow on YouTube so that you get views on YouTube and get subscribers on YouTube on autopilot. Secret #1: Create click-worthy titles
If your YouTube video's title doesn't stimulate someone to click on your video to watch it, it'll be impossible for you to grow your YouTube channel. You need to create YouTube titles that compels someone to click in order to grow on YouTube even if you have 0 subscribers.
If you have a small or non-existent subscriber base, a video on 'my trip to Budapest' won't be of interest to many, since you don't have an audience who cares, at least for the time being, about your personal life. YouTube is a search engine, so leverage that fact by creating YouTube videos and titles that are how to-based and outcome driven.
Just look at this very video's title: 'how to grow your YouTube channel' is how-to based and '10 secrets to grow on YouTube with 0 views and 0 subscribers' is outcome driven. The word secret naturally stimulates clicks, but it'll only help you grow on YouTube if you deliver on your promise.
Secret #2: Create a thumbnail that demands attention
There's no point in creating an amazing video on 'how to grow your YouTube channel', for instance, if your video is lost in a sea of other YouTube videos. You need to create a thumbnail for your YouTube video that demands attention, because the more attention it gets, the more views and subscribers you'll get on YouTube.
Although YouTube auto-generates thumbnails for all your YouTube videos, you should create and upload one yourself. If you don't know how to do that yet, make sure to watch my video on 'how to make a YouTube custom thumbnail'. I'll leave the link to it in the description box below.
Thumbnails that are yellow and red usually get more clicks on YouTube, as well as those which include a person that's expressing some sort of emotion. By creating a thumbnail that demands attention, you'll easily be able to grow on YouTube with 0 views and 0 subscribers.
Secret #3: Add your most recent video to your trailer
If you take a look at my channel's trailer, I don't add one that tells my audience who I am and what I do. Instead, I add my most recent video to my YouTube channel's trailer. This is an easy way to grow your YouTube channel and get more views on YouTube, since your target audience will be immersed in your videos as soon as they land on your channel.
Now this doesn't mean that I don't tell my audience who I am and what I do. Stay tuned for secret #5 where I talk about how I do this in a way that engages my audience and gets them to subscribe and view more of my YouTube videos.
Secret #4: Be specific in your calls to action
It's not enough to create an amazing YouTube video and expect that your viewers will automatically subscribe if they enjoy it. You need to flat out tell your audience to subscribe, hit the bell, like, comment and share.
If you go back to the start of this video, you'll notice that I said 'If you're excited about this video, make sure you like this video, hit the subscribe button and the bell to be notified every time I post a new video'.
By hitting getting your viewers to subscribe to your YouTube channel and be notified when a new video will go live, there will be a bigger chance that they'll watch your future videos, which in turn will help you grow on YouTube. Keep watching this video to see how I rephrase this subscribe, hit the bell, like, comment and share call to action at the very end of every YouTube video.
Secret #5: Keep your audience engaged and wanting more
If you go back to secrets #3 and #4, you'll notice that I refer to other points that I'll be making later on in this video on how to grow your YouTube channel because the more engaged you, the audience, is, the bigger the chance you'll get something out of this video, subscribe and view other YouTube videos.
Another way you can do this is at the very end of the video, so stay tuned for that (see what I just did there?), where you can tease the next video that you'll be posting as well as tell your viewers what days and times you post a new video. This consistency in YouTube content will keep your audience engaged, and the teaser will keep your viewers wanting more, which in turn will help you grow on YouTube.
Secret #6: Leverage your existing audience
It's totally possible to grow on YouTube with a small YouTube channel by leveraging your existing audience. Even if just one person watches your YouTube video, that is one human being that is taking time out of their day to watch your YouTube video.
If that one person comments on your YouTube video, even better. Not only should you reply to that comment, or all comments that you receive for that matter, but also click the heart icon. Whenever you click on the heart icon, the person who commented will receive an email and / or a notification that you did that, which will foster a sense of community between you and them.
The bigger the sense of community, the larger the chances of them returning to your channel, which boost the chances of them subscribing to your YouTube channel and viewing more of your YouTube videos.
Secret #7: Promote your YouTube video everywhere
This secret goes hand in hand with the last secret on leveraging your existing audience. You can't post a new YouTube video and expect that it'll automatically get views and boost your subscriber count.
To grow your YouTube channel fast, you need to promote every single YouTube video you release everywhere: be it to your email list, on social media, both on your personal and business pages, as well as on ping websites.
Now, if you're sitting there thinking, I want to grow on YouTube with 0 views and 0 subscribers, but I literally don't have an audience: I don't have an email list and I don't have followers on my social media accounts. What should I do?
That's where leveraging Facebook groups comes in. If you don't have an existing audience yet, Facebook groups provide you with just that. There are Facebook groups that you can join in every single niche, but you should focus on joining ones which have promotional threads where you can post your new YouTube video, which is what will help you grow your YouTube channel.

Secret #8: Create a blog post with your YouTube video
Some people prefer consuming content by watching it, whereas others prefer consuming content by reading it. An easy way to target both these kinds of audiences is by creating a blog post with your YouTube video.
If you check out Yes To Tech's blog, you'll notice that I not only add my YouTube videos twice within each blog post, but also include a transcript of said YouTube video between them. Some people will just watch the video, others will just read the text, while others will do both.
Not only will this cause my site's visitors to stay on my site longer and grow my YouTube channel by boosting the amount of views, but this YouTube video will have another chance of ranking in search via text. This is an all around win win solution.
Secret #9: Translate your videos to other languages
Just because your YouTube video is in English doesn't mean that its content wouldn't be helpful for viewers around the world. We live in a global environment, which is a huge opportunity to grow your YouTube channel by reaching a larger audience.
Not only should you add captions in English to all of your YouTube videos, but also caption it in other languages as well. For instance, if you take a look at my channel's audience within my analytics, you'll see that most of my YouTube channel's views are coming from the United States, India, United Kingdom, Philippines and Canada.
Adding captions to my YouTube videos not only in English, but also in Hindi and Tagalog, even if it's by using Google Translate to do that, is an easy way to grow on YouTube with 0 views and 0 subscribers.
Secret #10: Create longer videos
YouTube is a business and so, naturally, it wants to make money. It does that by showing you ads, and the more time you spend on YouTube, the more ads you see, and the happier YouTube gets.
That's one of the reasons why you should create longer videos. Longer videos boosts your watch time, which is a plus in YouTube algorithm's eyes.
If you're creating a video on a popular topic, such as this very video on how to grow on YouTube, one of the ways to help it rank high in YouTube search is by making it longer when compared to those who have already created a video on how to grow on YouTube.
For instance, if your video is 10 minutes long, whereas the other person's video is 5 minutes long, chances are, if your content is full of quality insights, and you deliver on your YouTube video's title's promise (remember secret #1?), viewers will spend more time watching your YouTube video than the YouTube video of the other person. By ranking higher in search, you boost your chances of growing on YouTube even with 0 views and 0 subscribers.
