How To Delete Your Facebook Shop - Guide For Beginners (Quick & Easy!)

To delete a Facebook shop, you'll need to deactivate your commerce account. This will remove the shop you created from both Facebook and Instagram shops.

To get started, head over to the Meta Commerce Manager. Make sure that the appropriate page is selected from the drop-down menu, and then click on Settings from the left-hand side panel.

Click on Business Assets from the left. Scroll all the way down, and when you reach this Commerce Merchant Settings option, click on Disconnect to remove your commerce account from Facebook. Deleting your commerce account will remove all connections to associated accounts.

Let's go ahead and click on Disconnect. Enter your password in the space provided before deactivating your commerce account, and then click on Confirm.

A Deactivate Commerce Account pop-up will appear. This pop-up says the following:

If you choose to deactivate your commerce account, it will immediately become inaccessible. You won't be able to reactivate your account or access any information. You can download insights data for this account before deactivating it. We'll store your commerce account information for compliance and business integrity purposes. All of your associated shops will be deactivated. Your catalogs, Instagram accounts, Facebook pages, business portfolio, and ads account will no longer be connected to this commerce account. You can always contact customer support to get help with Commerce Manager instead of deactivating your account.

If you want to go ahead and deactivate your Facebook shop, select the main reason for changing your checkout method. These include:

• I had trouble with my products catalog

• I had trouble with orders, returns, or shipping

• I prefer other selling platforms over shops

• I had trouble getting my shop products, website, or other business details approved

• I didn't have any issues, but I need to stop using an in-app checkout

• I had trouble with payments or payouts

• It was too hard to use shops to get support

• My products aren't eligible to be sold on shops or my shop performance wasn't what I expected with in-app checkout

You can also select an Other option and then explain it in the space provided. Both of these questions are optional to answer.

Once you're done providing a reason to deactivate your commerce account, click on Deactivate Account at the bottom.

Once your commerce account has been deactivated, so will your Facebook shop.
