The first step, of course, is to log in to your Wix account. If you don't have one yet, you can easily sign up for free by clicking on the link in the description box below.
Next, select the page where you want to add your donation form or create a new page if needed. You can do this by clicking on the "Pages" tab in the left-hand menu.
Once you're on the right page, go ahead and click on the "Add" button, then select "Contact & Forms" from the options. Scroll down until you reach the "Donation" option, and then click on the donation form of your choice.
Now you can customize your donation form to make it look appealing from its individual toolbar.
Under the donation "Form Settings", you can access your form's main options, general settings, submit message, payment options, conditions, contacts, automations, email marketing and support.
One of the most important elements of this donation form is the "Payment" option, which is how you'll receive your donations, so let's go ahead and click on that, and then on "Get Started". Click on "Next", and then choose the payment form type (either single item, list of items or visitors enter price). I'll select "Visitors Enter Price", and then click on "Next".
Enter the item and price range. For the item name, I'll enter "Donation", for the default price, I'll enter 20, and for the price range, I'll enter 10 to 100, and then click on "Next". Make sure that your payment method is connected, and then click on "Next".
In order to accept payments from your Wix donation form, you'll need to be on a Business and eCommerce plan. Make sure you upgrade to either a Business Basic, Business Unlimited or Business VIP plans to get paid.
Heading back to our donation form, under "Add New Field" or "Elements", you can select which field you'd like to include in your Wix donation form, including contact fields, basic fields and advanced fields, as well as anti spam.
Under "Layout", you can edit the layout of your donation form, including the text layout and form layout.
Under "Design", you can discover more design options for your Wix donation form, and then click on "Customize Design" at the bottom to edit further the input fields, submit button and form background.
Under "Animation", you can select an animation to add to your donation form, and then click on "Customize" at the button to edit that animation further.
Just like with any Wix element, you can click on the options within the Wix donation form, such as the form title, text field, submit button or success message, and then on each of the individual toolbars, to customize the donation form even further.
Also make sure to customize the entire donation page to make it visually appealing. You can add text, images, and any other elements from the left-hand side panel that tell your story and explain why donations are essential.
Before you go live, click on "Preview" up top to test your donation form to make sure everything works smoothly. Try making a small donation to ensure that the process is user-friendly and secure.
Once you're confident that your donation form is working as expected, hit that "Publish" button! Your Wix website now has a fully functional donation form!
