Today we’re going to talk about how to get the Instagram swipe up feature without 10k followers. That's a goal many of us have since when you get 10,000 followers on Instagram, you're able to access the swipe up feature in your Instagram stories. This is great to get more traffic to your website, gain more views on your latest YouTube video, sell your own products or even make money with affiliate marketing.

Alright, so let’s get right into how to get the Instagram swipe up feature without 10,000 followers.
You can get your audience from Instagram to any other page or platform of your choice by leveraging IGTV. IGTV is a standalone video application by Instagram and allows for longer videos compared to Instagram. Videos must be at least one minute long, and can last up to 15 minutes when uploading from a mobile device or 60 minutes when uploading from the web.
To gain access to IGTV, download the IGTV app from the App Store or from Google Play, sign up to the IGTV app (if you're already logged in to your native Instagram account it will automatically use your profile), click on the settings gear icon in the right hand corner, and then click “create channel”, and then you'll be good to go.
Now what you'll want to do is create a clip that's at least 1 minute long promoting whatever it is you want to drive traffic to. If you've written a new blog post, talk about the value of the post you just created, if you're a YouTuber, create a trailer or teaser for your newest video, if you're selling your online course, talk about the results your student will achieve after they take your course, and so on and so forth. Make sure to add to your clip a call to action to get those watching to click on the title link in their top left.
The important thing is that this clip is at least 1 minute long, since that's the minimum required time a video must have to be uploaded on IGTV. If you're having trouble reaching the 1 minute mark, you can always loop your clip on iMovie or any other video editing app of your choice so that it plays over and over until it reaches the 1 minute mark. Another option is to make a static clip by creating an Instagram story design on Canva, adding that to iMovie or any other video editing app of your choice, and changing its length to 1 minute.
Once you've created your clip, it's time to upload it to IGTV. To do so, click on your channel, and select the clip you just created that's at least 1 minute long. You can preview it and even add a cover photo. Click on 'next' and add your video title and description. Your title should be a short call to action that'll get your viewers to view your description. It can be something like 'click here now' with a downward pointing arrow. In your description you'll paste the link to whatever it is you want to drive traffic to. If you wish, you can post a preview and make your IGTV video visible on Facebook. Once you're done, post your video to IGTV.
Now's the fun part. It's time to post a teaser in your your Instagram story that links to your IGTV video. For instance, if you're a YouTuber, take a photo of yourself and add some text that says 'swipe up to watch my newest video'. Then click the link icon up top, and add your clip from IGTV as the call to action, and click on 'done'. Just remember that you need to post your IGTV video clip and Instagram story first before being able to access this linking feature. After it's been posted, when someone watches your story, they'll be able to swipe up to watch your 1 minute clip, and click the link in their top left that directs them to where you want them to go.
One important thing to notice is that just like with the regular swipe up feature when you have 10,000 followers, you're not able to see the swipe up feature when you're on your own account. To see it in action, you'll need to use another Instagram account or a friend's account.
