How To Crop A Circle In Photoshop: Online Picture Editing - Picture Online Tutorial

How To Crop Images In A Circle Shape Using Canva And Pixlr - FREE Photoshop Alternatives. In this video you’ll discover how to crop images in a circle shape using Canva and Pixlr, which are free Photoshop alternatives. You’ll learn how to crop images in a circle shape, how to crop photos into a circle, how to crop a picture into a circle, and how to easily crop your photos into circles.

First of all, if you don’t have an account with Canva yet, click here to create one - it’s 100% free, so you have nothing to lose. Pixlr is a FREE in-browser Photoshop alternative, and you don’t need to create an account to use it.

The first thing we’ll do is open up our Canva account, and click on the social graphic template to edit it. Now from the left-hand side panel, click on elements, frames, and scroll down until you find the circular frame that doesn’t have any detailings or borders. Click on it to add it to your graphic. Resize it so that it occupies the entire space, and is centralized. You’ll know that it’s centralized when these vertical and horizontal guidelines appear.

Okay, so to add your image, click on uploads on the left-hand side panel, and either select an image you’ve already downloaded previously, or click on upload your own images to upload a new one. Once your image has been uploaded, let’s say I want to add this one over here, select and drag it so that it occupies the circular frame.

If you wish to edit its settings, click on it, and click on filter up top to add a filter to it, or on crop to change its positioning. The bigger the image is, the less pixelated it will be, and the more you’ll be able to resize and crop. Once you’re satisfied with your crop, click on the check mark up top.

To download this circular image with a white background, since the free version of Canva doesn’t allow us to download images with transparent backgrounds, all you have to do is click on download up top to download it.

If you wish to make the background transparent instead of leaving it as white, we can do a little workaround with another tool, called Pixlr, which is a free Photoshop alternative. To access Pixlr, just go to pixlr.com/editor in your browser, and click on open image from computer. Locate the image you just created in Canva, and click on open. You’ll notice that you have the image cropped into a circle shape, but with a white background.

To remove the white background, click on the wand tool, bring down the tolerance to around 20, and click on the white area. This will select the entire white background, and leave our circular image untouched. Now click on delete on your keyboard. You’ll notice that instaed of having white background, we now have this checkered white and grey background, which means that the background is transparent. Now all we have to do is click on file and save to save our image cropped into a circle shape with a transparent background. Just make sure that you’re saving it in PNG format, to allow for the transparent background.

And that’s it. Now you know how to crop images in a circle shape using Canva and how to make its background transparent using Pixlr.

I now want to hear from you. Let me know in the comments below what image you chose to crop into a circle shape.
